Re: BORING BORING BORING RACE
Whilst there was a lot going on in the midfield, I do think we can all agree that the real meat of any Grand Prix should be the winner. I don't think many of us would happily watch a Grand Prix season where we were guaranteed a winner, with everyone else fighting for 2nd place. Saying "oh it would b...

Re: Vettel Disliked???
I think Vettel is humble and funny. A lot of what he is criticised about is what we would have lauded in others. Schumacher, Alonso and Senna have shown similar ruthlessness. There is one single reality that I can see for the Vettel hatred - predictability. We don't actually hate Vettel because only...

Re: I don't dislike Sebastian Vettel anymore..
I don't hate Vettel the person, much the same way I don't hate Schumacher the person. They both seem very amiable sorts who have a passion for F1, great technical ability and a ruthless streak that would be applauded in any other era (I dread to think how Senna would be looked upon in today's F1 lan...

Re: So..Is it time for Team orders at Mclaren?
I don't think either driver benefits from team orders. When there is a clear gulf in class (Alonso and Massa this year) then yeah maybe you think about it. But Jenson and Lewis are better when they're pushing each other. Ask Button to play number 2 and he'll potter about in midfield helping nothing....

Re: BBC : F1 Greatest Drivers (Top 20)
It's really hard to judge this for current drivers. While Vettel has undeniable talent, he's been in the class-leading car for the past 3 years (arguable about this season). It's a heck of a lot easier to rack up the wins and championships in superior machinery. Button was toiling away in dogs of Ho...

Re: Lewis Hamilton - a PR dream?
Not read the whole thread but I'll throw my thoughts in. Hamilton seems wooden and disinterested on certain forums. I think of he's talking racing he's great, but anything else and he lacks the chilled charisma of Jensen, who can talk about anything effortlessly. Being black in a worldwide sport lik...

Re: Massa- career almost done?
Dunno if i'm the only one who thinks he'll give up F1 rather than struggle with a midefield car for a lot less money. Would any team pick him over the cheaper options anyway?

Re: A different view to the Perelli haters
I can't fault the racing this year. It's up to the drivers and teams to create strong strategies to preserve tires and win races. The idea that everyone should just be able to go flat-out takes away some of the most interesting factors of current F1. How anybody can complain about the 3 races we've ...

Re: Hamilton vs Button 2012 (Championship Edition)
There is FAR too much chaos theory going on in this thread. If Lewis hadn't been here then Button woulda done this, if Button hadn't moved to McClaren Lewis woudda done this etc etc. It's absolutely impossible to say whether a different teammate would have resulted in different outcomes of races. Wa...

Re: Are JB and SV too nice / underworked?
If they did start getting nasty / competative then surely some people would condemn their lack of class of overanalyse everything they say.
As far as I can tell there is no lack of competition between the two behind the wheel, which is the mot important thing.

Not just that, Button wouldn't have put in any laps with DRS enabled or getting much of a slipstream.

Love to see Sutil get a drive back. Senna will get 8 races, I think.
I think the Williams at least looks supurb. Echoes of the old Rothman's paintwork. Really pretty stuff.

Re: I just realized that Vettel is getting really better!!
Sorry, but why did anybody think he was immature last year? Apart from the wobble in Canada he blew everyone away and didn't throw his toys out of the pram when things weren't perfect. He's a damn good driver and has an even temprement, a far as I can see....

Re: Redbull pull a fast one...shipping in NEW car
It is quite normal in an F1 team to have a second design to go to if it turns out to be quicker than the first. Though the first design is priority and often teams have no need to go to the next design but this is F1 and the overall design of the car, which includes even the small details can make ...

Re: Magic Button!!!!!
I agree that Button's racecraft is better than Lewis's, but I still believe that Lewis will mellow with age, and he is just suffering from hot-headedness and rashness, much like his idol, I guess.
Button at 13-2 is quite appealing, but I fancy Seb until the first weekend proves otherwise.

Re: Button went from......
I think it's hard to figure this out, because cream usually rises to the top in F1. Alonso and Webber started out and the back and earned their way to the top of the grid, like most do. It's rare that teams chuck mega money at a driver just to find out he wasn't what they'd hoped (although Fisi in a...

Re: Which midfield team will be the strongest in 2012? Updat
Think it'll be tight between Lotus and Force India. Di Resta and Hulk know where to point it, but Kimi is looking pretty sharp. I think they'll be fighting for the 5th best team, but might sneak a podium somewhere in the 'changable conditions' races.

Hi, long time lurker, thought i'd throw myself into the mix 28 years old, been a fan as long as I can remember. Bit of a homer or the brits but i'm pretty impartial and as long as the racing is exciting i'm happy to watch. Loved the Canadian Grand Prix last year, and many of the races in general. Ho...
