Re: Favourite season opener

1990 in Phoenix. The great battle between Senna and Alesi. I always had a soft spot for Alesi after that.

Re: Sky announce opening titles and music

I don't like the music, but it's a great montage.

Re: What made Murray Walker so good?

He simply loved racing and that always came through. The drivers adore him. I also remember he often stuck up for Schumacher when the British press gave him a hard time. Watching the Senna-Prost-Mansell era with Murray Walker and James Hunt was just great. They are some of my all time favourite F1 m...

Re: What was it about F1 that hooked us in to love the sport

The Mansell/Senna/Prost years - even though McLaren dominated there were still some good fights. I have two fond memories of 1989 - 1. Mansell storming through the field at Hungary to put one of the great passes on Senna and 2. Portugal of the same year - so much happened in that race...all this was...

Re: Best 1st Lap Ever?

It has to be Donington 1993. The second lap was pretty incredible too as I think Senna was around 4 seconds ahead of Prost. An honourable mention to Mansell in Hungary 1989. He started in 12th and in 7th ( I think) by the end of lap 1. One of Mansell's great victories with a superb pass on Senna to ...

Re: If Senna didnt die, would he have won the WDC in 1994?

Not sure, but I'd go with slightly with Senna. I have always wondered whether Senna would have been as intense with a non-Prost competitor pushing him. I know he fought with Mansell in 1991, but Prost was always on the horizon and by 1994 he was gone from the sport. In the end, we just have to consi...

Re: New Member introduction thread

Hey all, Been watching F1 since Imola 1989 - the complete breakdown of Prost and Senna. Was a big Senna fan, but these days just like watching good racing. I love the history of motorsport and I have a soft spot for Jim Clark as I grew up reading about him. I'm based in Melbourne at the moment and w...
