I haven't been this happy for a World Champion since 2007. Nico was the better driver this year and will be even more hungry the next. Mighty!

Did you notice the better engine sounds in this race?
The Bahrain race was very well televised. There was a nice wire shot used especially at the beginning of the race and many of the angles used actually made the cars seem quick. Moreover, the engines actually sounded loud, and while there obviously wasn't any spectator noise, it was lovely hearing th...

The racing is tight, the cars are interesting tech, weekends are short, the atmosphere seems relaxed and the calender doesn't really prevent other commitments. I'm not at all surprised that drivers are keen on the series.

Re: Rosberg's ability (or lack of) on Race Day
Don't really see the point of bumping this thread. Sure, Roserg lost a few seconds to Hamilton while navigating the same traffic, but he got called in sooner than he perhaps should have been. Merc seems to employ pit stop calls as way to prevent on-track conflicts between their drivers.

Which F1 track would work best reversed?
I'd like to see them run Interlagos clockwise. Curva do Sol followed by the Senna S's should be a fun and challenging sequence to drive. How about you? This is a thought experiment so when can disregard obvious safety concerns.

Re: Dallara GP2/05 – the case for ground effect in F1
Sadly, I don't think F1 will ever consider Ground Effects again because its too easy for teams to design amazing systems that would generate levels of downforce never before seen and the cars could potentially be ripping about at unthinkable speeds, thereby increasing the risk factor just that much...

Re: The Official Kimi Räikkonen thread
What an abysmal season Kimi's having. The most anticipated team mate battle of the season turned out to be a complete wash. I think it's clear now that Kimi's far too sensitive to poorly behaving cars to really be considered one of the greats. His best drives were almost a decade ago and it's dishea...

Re: Newey "F1 risks rules stagnation."
I prefer spec series actually. Champ Cars and early the GP2 seasons had awesome cars that allowed for exciting, close racing with very little gimmicks. I wish F1 could offer us the same, but we can't have that without losing some of the class' core identity as a multi-constructor championship. I'd l...

I'd rate Alonso pretty high on that list, actually. He is a complete driver at his prime, an all-time great driving for the most prestigious team in the history of the sport. He should be up there fighting for wins every race. Yet he doesn't have the tools available to him to leave a legacy he would...

Re: Safety car releasing lapped cars
It's obvious that lapped cars should either fall to the back of the queue or let others pass by going through the pit lane, waiting at a red light if need be. If it takes engineers to rewrite a few dozen lines of code for next season, so be it. This needs to happen. Another thing they should change ...
