Re: So... who replaces Lewis at Mercedes?
I don't know why, but I feel this whole Red Bull fiasco is being triggered by Verstappen actually not having faith in Red Bull/Ford for 2026, and wanting to get out of there by hook or by crook, and go to a works team. And Mercedes might seem like the best bet during an engine regulations change.

Re: 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
Tsunoda almost swiping Ricciardo after the race on the cooldown lap. This is how this guy handles team orders for P13. He won't be able to keep his head in a top team. Hasn't matured in 3 years, and that hot-headedness is backed by mediocre pace. Reminds me of Ocon. All the drama of Schumacher, Alo...

Re: 2024 Bahrain Grand Prix Race Thread
Looking at the slowdown lap video, Tsunoda tried to hit or scare Ricciardo twice. First a locked up divebomb, then an almost sideswipe. I can guarantee he's not going to a top team. Entitled jerk who's in F1 just because of his nationality, just like Honda keeps one sad rider in MotoGP.

There was so much hype of Verstappen going for 10 wins in a row last year, that almost everyone has forgotten: He's on another streak of 8 wins in a row now. No Singapore bogey in sight. That 10 looks very likely to be broken. He's won 18 of the last 19 races. 35 of the last 45. This is getting so ...

Tsunoda is an entitled crybaby. Your teammate behind on soft tyres, of course it makes sense to let him through. First he delays it, then keeps crying for so many laps. It's not he even lost a point. These are the auditions you give to big teams about how you are as a team player.

Every driver since I've watched F1 has declared they'll end their career at Ferrari, when they join the team. Sort of like a romantic line every new joinee says. Ferrari is covering all bases. Leclerc was the youngest driver to sign for them since the early 1960s. Hamilton is the oldest driver to join them since the mid-1950s. Leclerc was one of the rare times Ferrari signed an almost-rookie, zero wins driver. Hamilton is the most successful F1 driver of all...

Three thoughts: No-one has ever won a WDC with 3 different constructors. Hamilton has nothing to lose, everything to gain. Lewis has repeatedly tied his future to working with Toto. This also speaks volumes about a champion's mentality and someone like Norris, who this week was harping about, "If I go to Max's team, it's not wise." Hamilton is going to battle someone like Leclerc who, IMO, is as fast as Verstappen, if not faster. And has proven that when given the car, can seem...

Unlike Singapore 2017 where Vettel took out Raikkonen, Hamilton KNEW there were three cars going into the corner. For Hamilton, "being taken out by his own teammate" = teammate not being a doormat. I did not vote but I would be inclined to say that Hamilton is right. I rate Alonso as the best driver out of those. I consider Rosberg and Ricciardo at more or less the same level. You'd think that Otmar Szafnauer, having a name that's tricky to pronounce and spell, would have some empathy and focus on how to pronounce someone else's name. He called Zhou, "Zoo". He's always appeared very smug and dumb at the same time, to me.

Kudos on Danica asking for details about the lap.
The usual commentators ask, "you're on pole, how do you feel?"
Do you expect the driver to say, "I feel like fairy cakes"?
