Re: The Official Jenson Button thread
The usual point about Button outscoring Hamilton in their time together as team mates in the "Who were the best in McLaren, Hamilton or Button?" thread got me wondering how he's fared throughout the rest of his career. And was shocked to find the last time a team mate outscored him was Fisichella in...

I think I must be one of a very few who finds it impressive that drivers can implement what improvements their engineers outline to them over the radio. Trickier than you might imagine.

Re: Scottish Independence, yes or no.
I only recently had it pointed out to me by someone, but I tend to agree with the point they made; surely the needs of Scotland are vastly different to the needs of South East England? Not only in terms of things like fishing and farming, but in sheer population demographics. Throw in Wales and NI, ...

Re: Want to Save F1? Make it about the Drivers
Good post sandman, apparent you've spent some time on it. But for the last 20+ years they have mostly taken steps to nerf technolgy and slow the cars down! They banned ground effects, they banned active suspension, they banned TC, they nerfed the powerplant, they nerfed the powerplant again, they ba...

Re: Rosberg: Safety car was used at wrong time in Hungary
Does anybody know why they don't just scrap the safety car and adopt Code 60? I seen it used a few times at this years LM24 and it seems by far the fairest way to enable work to be carried out at non-dangerous racing speeds, whilst simultaneously disadvantaging no one. Would you care to explain tha...

Re: Scottish Independence, yes or no.
I’m Scottish and have looked long and hard at the arguments such as they are but am still undecided. It always saddens me when people say things like ‘if Scotland vote yes then don’t come crawling back when it fails’, or ‘if Scotland vote yes then they are not getting this or that’. That’s the poli...

I too wonder if Alonso has a unique preference in his cars which lead to making it very hard for other drivers to adapt to it. The F138 was competitive in the first few races of the year, then after Silverstone, it fell off massively really. During the middle of the season it was behind the Red Bull, Lotus and Mercedes cars. At the moment, I believe that the Ferrari is the 6th fastest car in the grid, and the engine is probably as bad as that of Renault, taking into account that the Red Bull has the least amount of downforce. So assuming every driver is getting the maximum out of their car, and run clean races, that wo...

Laura/mikey I think we're getting a bit off topic here. I think we need to agree to disagree on this subject. I thought my question was originally the same as the one AngusWolfe posed, and I suppose it might have the same answer, but I think it's different enough to warrant asking. If Formula 1 is the most viewed sporting event behind only the Olympics and the World Cup (disputable, I know), why is there se...

Is anybody aware of the (any) stance from the officials with regards to the first corner? They were completely running off the road back in 2003, can't imagine they'd be allowed that today.

WTCC to race on Nürburgring Nordschleife in 2015
I thought this was a huge announcement, and at first I didn't actually believe it. I might be wrong, but I don't believe any FIA sanctioned championships currently race there, and I'm interested to hear other people's opinions. Does such a prominent series open the door for other high profile champi...
