Re: Williams' best driver 1996-present
In terms of their Williams performances I'd go with: Hill - He outperformed DC and JV quite comprehensively and they were both talented and motivated young drivers. Class of the field in 96. Schumi maybe have aced Barca but Hill was awesome in the wet in Monaco (Schumi crashed on lap 1) and Brazil ...

Re: In my opinion Max very well may be the best driver
First he needs to beat Daniel in a season, next season he has to do it, otherwise Daniel must be a mega god or something according to some on here, if beats Max 3-0 in seasons together. The kid has got the potential, and he has the speed, but over the course of the season, and in a title battle, and...

When one of these two leaves to go to another team, this forum will come alive! We'll finally be able to connect all the dots in terms of how the drivers compare (especially if one of them goes to Mercedes). We already know, so far second season Daniel is beating Max again. This is motorsports and ...

Re: Is Hamilton now rising to be the best of his generation?
Almost all of the car setup during the race weekend is determined by the engineers. The driver does offer the input of "it is pushing exit turn 3" and stuff like that but such input is not based on technical proficiency, just driver feel. Between P2 and P3, all data is uploaded back to the factory,...

He was obviously pushing, and pushed to far, you have to stay on the bike and finish, the pay money he's on and brought in as #1 rider to just crash like that is very disappointing when the race was in the bag easily for him, a stupid mistake from someone who should not be making them, but at least ...

So while a move to Renault would at least see them finish more races, it doesn't guarantee they will do well enough to even finish top 5 and such a deal would most definitely NOT bring the millions of dollars Honda does. Red Bull runs Renault engines and Verstappen has suffered a few DNF's due to e...

Look at the brake light in screen. He braked with brake pedal. Point is Hamilton said he did not brake... Hamilton said he did not brake test him, big difference. All the driver's brake behind the safety car to keep a general speed, heat in the tyres and brakes, its quite normal for them to push th...

Ferrari at their usual tricks. Vettel clearly had a pace advantage over Kimi, but he would never have jumped him if Ferrari had left Kimi out another 2 laps or so to make sure he come out in clear air and not in traffic. Purposely putting Kimi in traffic to enable Vettel to overtake in the pitstops....

Silly question and topic. Pointless for them to do that. They can already put enough efforts into sports cars along with F1 if they wanted, and F1 is where the big game is at and something that they will continue to develop, through good and bad, F1 is in their blood and needed for their image.

I think for most teams it will be a matter of alternatives. Probably all teams would like Alonso as a driver, cos love him or not he is one of the best. They will then weigh up if it is worth the cost of 3 or 4 other good drivers. Will a driver almost as good get the same results? for instance, is ...

Alonso got contacted by Mercedes, if he really wanted it and he was really the top wanted guy on the grid, he could have had the 2017 Mercedes seat. I think you guys take it too personal just because he did not put "Alonso" on the same list as those mentioned. Last I checked the Honda ICE of last year was superior to the Renault by the middle of the season. I expect them to resolve the troublesome ERS and be close to if not better than Ferrari. This really is terrible news. Vergne and Magnussen have more talent in their left leg than Jolyon Palmer. This is as bad as when Pastor got a seat at Lotus. I thought Vettel was quite poor considering the car he had. He often made moves to quick and cost him time, his race craft around other cars was questionable again.
