Re: The TRUE cost of a tire puncture

With all due respect, you can't beat everyone. You can't beat Alonso, Vettel, Webber, the FIA, Massa, Maldonado, your own pit crew AND your own teammate in the same car who gets the good pit stops when he needs them. That's too much. FLB Actually, to be WDC that's exactly what you're supposed to do...

Re: The TRUE cost of a tire puncture

With all due respects this has to be one of the worst posts I've seen on here for a while. Firstly the championship is far from over. It all comes down to Mclaren coming good with the car again. If they can do that and Hamilton can get on a roll he will certainly be back in it. Remember Schumacher ...

Re: The TRUE cost of a tire puncture

Button is now showing good form and while I enjoyed seeing him on the podium, this is not a good sign for Hamilton but also not for McLaren because Hamilton SHOULD leave McLaren if Button starts winning now with 2.5 second pit stops. Oh but this is exactly a good sign for Hamilton. If Hamilton is a...

The faster you get, the margin of error tends to increase They were quick, just wait and see in the forthcoming races But they also had lightning stops in Silverstone. But I agree with your point for Mclaren will need to consistently deliver good pit stops. Even with magical stops like this for the...

The TRUE cost of a tire puncture

I was sad yesterday when Hamilton's tire suffered a puncture from Massa's debris. This morning, I looked at the scores and I realized that Hamilton is now out of contention for the WDC. It's race 10 and Alonso has a 62 point lead over him. Now this is a season where Hamilton has driven really, reall...

Re: Why No Safety Car After the Massa Collision?!

The safety car is deployed in case of a safety issue. All the debris that was on the track when Alonso led the field past on lap two didn't pose a safety issue, although the chance of someone suffering a puncture was incredibly high. And that's exactly what happened, everyone ripped through that se...

It's irrelevant. They should be respectful and post times in the 3s especially for Button. It's unacceptable that they're changing tires so quickly and I absolutely MEAN that!!!

No, our government has decided to switch lights off except near exits, unless there is heavy rain/fog,... so it's pretty dark now ;) Oh, you're kidding! Driving on the flat, wide, super-lit, Belgian highways at night was a sight to behold. I can definitely understand why they chose to turn them off...

I signed it too - I lived in Belgium when I was younger but unfortunately, I never went to see a F1 race. I do recall that we had gone to SPA with my dad and walked around the muddy grounds a few days after a race. I have to say the Belgian highways are a top speed dream especially at night. Are the...

Just curious, if you start your party at 5AM what on earth are you doing from 10PM to 5AM? It seems a highly inefficient way to party. You could have been partying for 7 hours before the party even got going and snoozing at 5AM. Perhaps, the FIA can draft up some party rules for their drivers. Here ...

This might answer a few questions: http://www.formula1.com/inside_f1/understanding_the_sport/5297.html For European round of the championship, the teams transport their equipment (including cars) by truck. For all non-European rounds they are transported by aircraft. I think these methods are used ...

It wouldn't surprise me if all the RBR higher-ups (except Marko obviously) preferred Mark personally to Seb. When you work in a team as closely as they do, personal relationships and team rapport would have a huge bearing on their on-track success. Mark has been in the team for 5 years now, longer ...

Not sure why he played his hand so early - he could have waited until the end to make sure that RB treat him fairly. If he was the contender for the WDC, he could have negotiated from a much better spot. I'm guessing there was a verbal assurance that RB would not favor Seb this year.
