Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

This makes for an interesting read. The Red Bull company was initially split 49% each between the two - The Thai owner & Mateschitz. The remaining 2% was given to the Thai owner's son. Now that 2% has been sold off/transferred to a trust which makes the equity share 49% each giving the Mateschitz fa...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

A 'leaked' video of Horner's farewell speech. I think one of the Sky Sports commentators tweeted saying he was visibly crying during his speech/last visit at Milton Keynes.

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

I wonder if it is the case from last year, Max possibly going away, or RB's bad performance of recent months . It may be a combination of everything I guess. The bits in bold are very likely highly correlated, and the second likely causal to the possibility of the first. Perhaps a shoe dropped rega...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

This opens up 2 big hypothetical scenarios:
- Verstappen stays now or leaves for Mercedes.
- Because Horner's grasp at Red Bull was weakening, he made his candidature available. So he could go to Aston Martin or Ferrari even.

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

With this giant news out, could we expect a news from Verstappen sooner than summer break?

There are only 2 outcomes with this news - Verstappen stays with Red Bull or leaves to join Mercedes which already must've happened behind closed doors!

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread

As per rumours in the paddock, Colapinto's retirement during the British Grand Prix formation lap was due to him burning the clutch because of which the car got stuck in 2nd gear. He has done this the second time after Barcelona. If this rumour is true, his days are really numbered because burning o...

Re: The official NICO HULKENBERG Thread

This makes Hulk's podium even more deserving. He disagreed with his race engineer twice in the first nine laps relating to pit strategy. He even said in the post race interview that he thought about putting slicks when on the formation lap but when he reached sector 3, he changed his mind & decided ...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

Sauber team has been really nailing their race strategies in the recent races more than the bigger teams (putting a rookie Antonelli on Hards(!) on a damp track & Hamilton on softs when the track temperature was getting hotter! Sauber nailed it by putting Hulk on a more durable Mediums). 19421834667...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

Usually at the start of a new lap or just a few turns in we would come to know the SC is coming in but was the SC decision made real late or only we viewers got informed late. When the SC with the cars appeared on the Hangar Straight, that's when it got announced the SC is coming in. When the lights...

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Race Thread

As good as Verstappen is in wet conditions, it will still be tricky as he's chosen a lower downforce trim setup. If Verstappen also feels he's out of the WDC fight, he'll be more than happy to take risks in the first 3 turns whereas Piastri would be cautious. Nonetheless, we're in store for a great ...

Just watched qualifying, mighty from Verstappen. Also, it was genuinely exciting with multiple drivers in with a shoot.
Top 6 drivers were covered by about 2 tenths. Either of these six could've gotten pole but almost all barring Verstappen made an error on their final Q3 lap.

Re: 2025 British Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Verstappen has gone for a lower downforce setup which could bite him if it rains. If it doesn't he can still win as no one negotiates fast corners as him. Even if it rains, would you really bet against him to make it work... Nope Mate as Verstappen excels in the rain. But seeing how less loaded his...

Everything comes to the factors of it rains & the race pace in the dry. McLaren are the still the team to beat but if it rains, it could be a box office of a race!

Shame for Bearman with that careless driving into pit entry leading to a 10 place grid penalty. He's having a good weekend. Supposedly, Haas have got a few upgrades to the car.

BTW, he's 4 points away from a ban & will remain in the danger of this till November.

Gasly creating mini miracles with that Alpine. He was beyond frustrated with the car on Friday. Colapinto's days are numbered it seems.
