Loss of viewers - Loss of interest but why?
I've been an F1 fan for 20 years or more but in the last few seasons the passion has gone!! I thought it was the Vettel effect possibly but I got through the Schumi years ok so I don't think that was it. The lack of sound doesn't bother me, yes the sound was awesome, but unless you don't want to tal...

Petrov is looking to switch to DTM in 2014 but still in talks with three F1 as well, didn't expect that!

Brake lights on single seaters
I have just been watching back some of the racing from over the weekend and there were a few accidents here and there that could possibly have been avoided with some brake lights. Why are they on most series but single seaters? LeMans and GT and Touring cars all have them so why not F1, GP2, etc? We...

You have to take the Top Gear laps with a pinch of salt don't you? Different days, conditions, tyres, weights, engine wear, fuel on board, clutch bite etc etc....... Different cars even. When I worked in the motor trade we would have in 2 pretty much identical make/model/mileage cars. One would be t...

Didn't they have an agreement between themselves that whoever led after the 1st corner (or 1st lap maybe) would get the win? As they knew the car was so much better than any other at that time.lamo wrote:I believe the next GP in Australia 1998, DC actually let Mika through on his on accord?

I was reading somewhere today that Honda are wanting Brawn to head up their return to F1, that would give some teeth to the Lowe story. In Webbers position I'd be tempted to start on the softs and pit after 1 lap getting them out of the way, giving a clear track at the back and a chance to put in some hot laps while the leaders struggle along on the softs.

The Melbourne race and quali, as well as some others, are held at 5pm local time, as opposed to the 1pm local time for most races, for the benefit of the European audiences. What is the point? I've been wondering the same thing and not found an answer. Surely there has to be a period of development at least, they are supposed to be designed for efficiency and without constant development they aren't going to get the most efficient solution. What if a manufacturer has made a slight miscalc...

The Exhaust Blown Diffusers were banned for 2012 for whatever reason along with engine assisted downforce supposedly. All teams need sponsors to survive, Red Bull is an odd one but still follows along the same lines. The main sponsor of any team is treated like royalty by the team, of course they have an influence. The question is how much influence? A smaller team like say a HRT is going to do whatever they can fo...

I've just been watching an old documentary about F1. Even back in the 50s and 60s the cars were going faster than todays Red Bulls on the straights (200mph+ in the 50s!!!!), but obviously a lot slower in the corners back then on the skinny tyres and lack of downforce. By that I mean after a season or so in F1 do the drivers take less chances and settle for what position they are in rather than go that extra bit to push themselves up a place or two. In the lower Formula drivers seem to drive by instinct and take a chance when they feel an opportunity exists, yet a...
