Re: 2017 F1 Car Launch Dates, Helmet & Livery Thread!
There's a countdown clock on the McLaren website, it currently reads just over 22 hours until the launch of the MCL32, so I make that 11:00AM UK time tomorrow. Live streamed from 11:00am GMT, apparently will be unveiled not long after the stream starts. Will be streamed on McLarens YouTube channel,...

Re: How would you punish Vettel?
No punishment. Yes Vettel pushed it abit far and directly aimed an aggressive/foul worded message at the race director, but I assume any punishment will be on the basis that he brought the sport into disrepute. But it wasn't Vettels fault that FOM decided to broadcast the message to the world. It's ...

There seem to be a lot of blame aimed at the Ferrari strategy. It may not have been perfect, but it still gave Seb a real chance for the win. The real difference today was Hamiltons ability to keep the tyres alive and Vettel stuffing up at the chicane. Finally someone calls it as it actually was. V...

The system isn't great, but it's the teams getting their timing wrong that is making it such a farce.
Qualifying has always been about being fast at the right time, and it still is.

Qualifying program is to start on Sky F1 at 13:45. At least that's what it's now saying, although Porsche Super Cup is currently on with no mention of a early finish.
Edit: they showed the start and seconds later them crossing the line, so think it will start at 13:45 gmt.

Re: If Red Bull quits. Would you go for VES or RIC?
If I was TP of Merc or Ferrari I'd take Ricciardo over Kimi or Rosberg. Any other team I'd drop the whole current line up to fit the both of them in. Alonso is the only other driver I'd consider keeping, but in a currently under performing team and reaching the end of his career having the chance to...

The biggest problem with this tyre pressure debate is that if a car can be disqualified for running outside of the specified pressures, then why are all cars not checked? If every car on the grid were running low pressures, only the cars checked (2 Mercs and 2 Ferrari in today's case) would be disqu...

Short version of the article is that Alonso has a performance related get-out clause. McLaren, Honda and Alonso are confident that they have identified the areas that are holding them back, which will be fixed for next season. Currently Alonso is happy to spend another year at McLaren.

Re: The eternal 'what if...?'
Nope because Lewis was partly responsible for the call to pit. He mistakenly thought Rosberg and Vettel had pitted themselves and Lewis decided he wanted supersoft tyres as a result. The team could have, and did initially, told him to stay out but Lewis was insistent he wanted fresh tyres . He thre...

Yeah, and first one is International Charity for Backmarkers. Was just thinking similarly. VdG is never going to settle for a pay off. He hasn't done so far, and with 2 courts now backing him what make anyone think he now will. I doubt even the struggling engine suppliers would want a change after investing so much time and money on developing the current engines. A unfreeze of the regulations is probably more realistic.
