Re: Hamilton's Sportsmanship (split from Bahrain 2021 Race Thread)

Can someone tell me why they think the repass was unsporting? Hamilton let Kimi all the way passed so was certainly further behind him than he was when he left the track.... He also had less momentum than Kimi down the straight after Kimi passed. He jut had such a speed advantage that he could outb...

Or Herbert could be interesting if you just take the drivers he partnered full time - Nannini, Hakkinen, Zanardi, Schumacher, Frentzen, Alesi, Barrichello, Irvine. Johnny Herbert vs Michael Schumacher = 13.8 / 86.2 Johnny Herbert vs Heinz-Harald Frentzen = 33.6 / 66.4 Johnny Herbert vs Eddie Irvine...

Re: Help please you kind Pf1ers

Where would Trulli fit in amongst today's grid? He seems a bit Bottas like with the quick in qualifying but not as strong on a Sunday. I have a group of Bottas/Norris/Sainz/Perez/Ocon (not in order) that are fairly similar and get the impression he might be in there but probably towards the back of...

F1 is hugely based in the UK in terms of teams and manufacturers. It is also reliant on Sky for broadcasting. Both are in the UK. Are people seriously objecting to a disruption purely to watch care drive round in circles? One is a sport the other is national institution, I struggle to think of anot...

Can mods please split this into a thread on the non-F1 forum? I enjoy debating the pros and cons of monarchy but here is not the place. I disagree. There's a rumour that either Alonso or Ocon has tested positive for Covid infection. Hence, Kvyat would be in one of the Alpine cars. https://www.gpblog.com/en/news/81873/rumour-alonso-or-ocon-tested-positive-for-coronavirus-kvyat-is-going-to-invade.html I'm surprised they wouldn't take the opportu...

And the odd thing is apart from Alonso he was pretty consistent against all his teammates.

He looked similar against Frentzen in 00 as he did in 01, same with Ralf 05-07.

It's not nonsensical. In races they both entered, Irvine scored more points despite being utterly outperformed by Schumacher. Johnson talked about context. Then he used a year that was cut in half to make a point. It is ironic to say the least, but maybe my post was a tad distasteful, so I'll apolo...

I'll hold off on voting until the poll is sorted out but it's actually quite a touch exercise. What? Michael entered 10 races in 1999. In those 10 races, Irvine out scored him. The missed races are removed. I think you'll find that he wasn't included for Silverstone. Even in F1's website: https://www.formula1.com/en/results.html/1999/races/694/great-britain/race-result.html He was not offici...

Re: Hamilton's Sportsmanship (split from Bahrain 2021 Race Thread)

I guess that our definitions differ! My take is the 'lead' driver taking the normal racing line which will naturally take him to the outside of the track on corner exit. The (attacking?) driver who may be partially alongside either backs off or goes off (and is hung out to dry in my book). I've rea...

One aspect of mental strength where both Schumacher and Hamilton are ferocious is the desire to keep winning and winning. We don't know, but I doubt someone like Ricciardo has this trait. If he had joined Mercedes instead of Hamilton in 2013/14 then by this point he'd have probably been sated and l...

Hamilton is mentally very strong. Just in a totally different way to the likes of Schumacher.

In character I always think Hamilton is very similar to Mansell. Especially earlier in his career.

I can't really comment on something I didn't watch and DTS has a reputation for somewhat stretching realities. What's being put about can be perhaps be seen as equally unreliable but it's being put out there that Bottas deliberately gave Verstappen a tow against the teams wishes to better advantage...
