Re: Your favourite Australian Grand Prix

I've gone with 2003.

I would give an honourable mention to 1995 just for it's crazyness.

I've always had a soft spot for 2005 because of how refreshing it was after a year of Ferrari dominance.

The problem with both synthetic fuels and hydrogen is that the energy efficiency is extremely low. This has been researched over and over again and it is an insurmountable problem. EVs are already more economical and range anxiety is quickly becoming a thing of the past. People tend to come up with...

The end of cheap motoring is going to be a problem for millions (especially as the cost of housing pushes those on lower incomes further and further from their places of work) of people and I don't see how it's one that can be resolved. Re: So... who replaces Lewis at Mercedes?

On top of it all, Hamilton never had a car as dominant as Verstappen has enjoyed the last 2 seasons and seemingly this season as well. I'm sorry, but that's just not true. The only way the current Red Bull is even potentially better than the peak Mercedes years is reliability, but purely from a per...

Re: 2024 Junior Series

The Sargeant was fast tracked excuse never made much sense to me.

Whilst it's true he only had a single season in F2 he'd done three years in F3. If he was ever going to be good enough if he would shown at least some evidence of it last season.

Worth a look but ultimately not good enough.

The last sentence is true for those who confuse driver and car/team performance. Counting driver wins and "trophies" has never been as meaningless as today. What should make the headlines and what should be the GOAT debate is RB overtaking Mercedes and soon also McLaren. Will they catch Ferrari? I ...

Re: The 100 Greatest of All Time (Update)

Very long seasons, best and most dominant team ever, midfield teammate - these cruising statistics are really not worth anything. Verstappen beat Hamilton in similar cars despite suffering 3 DNFs in a season while his far more experienced rival only had 1. In other words, he was about 50 points mor...

3rd best car in 2019 and probably 2nd best car in 2020. Both miles off as the fastest car. Probably by a similar amount to how far Mercedes were off Red Bull in 2022 and 2023 Verstappen’s performances with inferior cars in 2019 and 2020 are miles above Hamilton in 2022 and 2023 with a comparable de...

He just looked a step above every other driver, even when he had a slower car. An only 2nd fastest car which is not behind much and slow team mates help with that a lot. Last year Lewis had the 3rd best car which he brought to be the 2nd best after RB. 3rd best car in 2019 and probably 2nd best car...

I don't, but no news has come out about it. I don't think it is wrong taking the human element out and instead relying on technology to avoid endless discussions. No, the sensors are not wrong. Inaccurate maybe, but neither wrong nor faulty. Curious how you know that the sensor was not faulty? Regardless, sensors do fail, and yet the rules do not provide any leway to penalize a car when they do. That is wrong. I don't, but no news has come out about it. I do...

Well, it eliminates the human factor. No system or person is infallible and having both in place will lead to protests. Re: How many times (if any) do you think race ban should have occured since Spa 2012?

It's worth remembering that Grosjean didn't simply get a ban for his move in Spa in isolation. It was his fourth first lap crash of the season and the second time he'd crashed into cars alongside him on the way down to turn 1. I can't think of any single crash which deserved a race ban since. Tsunoda is pretty clearly an F1-quality driver. Yes, Tsunoda is definitely at least a decent F1 driver by no...

The lack of verstapoen mistakes is also due to the fact he almost never has to push. Like when is the last time max had to really fight another driver for a win? Off the top of my head it was Vegas.
