Re: Is Mercedes unbeatable?

Let’s be honest, we all know that this was just an anomaly, like Malaysia 2015. You can bump this thread when someone other than Mercedes wins a world title. I don't know why people can't see this? It wasn't like the Mercedes was working normally and Redbull beat them on pace, even with an extra st...

Re: One Stop or Two?

I think what we need is a variety of situations. I don't mind the race we saw at Silverstone sometimes but I don't think that would be desirable all the time. Essentially if we make cars that can follow teams will be more likely to go for a faster two stop rather than kep track position with the one...

If anything is proof of Mercedes wrong doing it's this. If Mercedes are innocent why would they need to lean on their customers?

Re: F2 & F3

I'm pretty much a Tsunoda fan and indeed he's in with a good shot of F1 I'd say given Honda's involvement in F1. He appears to be very quick, quite mercurial. A bit of x-factor to him perhaps, though not the best driver in the field. As for the collision between Schumacher and Shwartzman, I place t...

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: 70th Anniversary GP 2020

It does look like the Hulkengerg votes are going the way I expected. Looking at it from the point of view like this: Which driver won the battle? Well it was Stroll clearly with RP's report. Hulkenberg got serious vibration that couldn't make it to the end despite being in clean air the entire race...

Re: 2020 70th Anniversary Grand Prix Race Thread

I agree Verstappen is probably the driver of the season at this stage. I think he's got the absolute maximum result possible from the situation he's been given. I don't think you can say that about anyone else on the grid this year.

Shwartzman can't just evaporate though. He's on the inside. Schumacher thought he was all the way passed and he wasn't. He's even admitted as much.

Re: 2020 70th Anniversary Grand Prix Race Thread

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2020 70th Anniversary Grand Prix

Also Hulk is close as I think his finishing position was dictated by a crazy extra stop. Would like some clarification as to why that was made. Swapped the posiitons because points are better for Stroll, Perez will be back for the next race. He had vibrations I believe and RP didn't want to throw a...

Re: 2020 70th Anniversary Grand Prix Race Thread

Bottas didn't even try to overtake Verstappen after he pit. Hard luck on him but he's been very passive as usual. He will have known that Verstappen had the option to push harder without ruining the tryes. Bottas will have ruined his tyres far sooner had he tried against verstappen. Then why did he...

Re: 2020 70th Anniversary Grand Prix Race Thread

Can anyone explain something to me.... When Pirelli used to make really soft tyres 2011-13 teams would always stop twice, often three times but they were still able to do a stint of at least 10 laps or so on the softest tyre. Now in order to tempt the teams away from a one stop strategy they have to...

I think hulk has got P3 in the bag here. Very impressive. It begs the question what Perez has been doing to be nip and tuck with Stroll in qualifying. To be fair it's a very small data sample. Race 1 he beat Stroll, Race 2 it was wet where Perez is generally poor, Race 3 he was unwell. Last season ...

I'm not sure Schwartzman has. Schumacher has beaten him more often than not recently. That being said Mick needs some big results and soon. The Prema boys don't seem happy here. Something is getting very suspicious about the level of Vettel's problems. I think he did extremely well last race at trying to hide his true feelings. I think Hamilton will give Bottas some problems. Remember last years race? We now team mates can race here. I don't think Magnusen is any more of a potential race winner than Hulkenberg. We've seen how they compared directly to Palmer. Hulkenberg was way better despite Magnussen facing Palmer in his rookie season. No way would I pick Magnussen over Hulk. I just don't think he's as good.

How about poaching Kevin Magnussen from Haas? His cowboy-attitude would fit very well with Red Bull, and he's a fast driver, who can win races in the right car. He's not good enough to be a threat to Verstappen, but there is no way he would be lapped by him either. As driver #2 he would collect a s...

That's true although it's fair to say that generally F1 would have been more exciting over the last 6 years without Merc. I'll say what I always say when Ferrari threatens to leave. Liberty should devise a set of rules that is best for the sport. If some people chose not to sign up to those rules t...
