Re: Vettel's Championships feel hollow....
All these threads about "does driver X really deserve championship Y" all really irritate me. The world champion is the guy who collects the most points in a year. Not the guy who has driven the socks off his car and come second to a quicker car, get over it, thats life. The guy who wins the world c...

The Comeback. Was it Worth It?
So Schumi has gone for good this time, and its left me wondering what he has achieved in these three years. So pick an answer, and say why you chose it folks. For me its option 2. People have said that F1 is no longer Schumacher's playground. I would argue differently. How many other 43 year olds ca...

Re: Has the purpose of STR become obsolete?
I think it is important to remember that STR is not just driver training, it is engineer training as well. STR can take young engineers, train them and the cream of the crop can go to RBR. This is why RBR can dominate, like they did in 2011, Adrain Newey may be good, but he needs an awesome team aro...

Don't be naive. McLaren will have a plan B. It is not in their interest to say what it is or even that there is one, as it will just drive Hamilton away.spiritone wrote:Mclaren has no plan B. That should tell you all you need to know about whitmarsh the witless.

Re: Hamilton leaving Macca for Merc! (on BBC not confirmed)
If we assume Hamilton will go to Mercedes, I think he will replace Rosberg rather then Schumi. It makes more sense. Rosberg is a better driver than Schumacher, but his marketing power is tiny in comparison. And since Hamilton is far better than Rosberg, why not drop your 'top driver' for a better on...

Re: Hamilton leaving Macca for Merc! (on BBC not confirmed)
Lewis Hamilton would be a fool to leave McLaren. That said, he does do a pretty good impression of a fool at times. I AM A LEWIS FAN, but I do believe the incomparably more mature Button would make a better team leader that Hamilton at this moment in history, even though Jenson perhaps lacks the ult...

This weekend may change our beloved sport forever, should the worst happen. I want to see it from start to finish, I want to know exactly what happens this weekend that could DESTROY F1 forever. I would rather go down on my sinking ship than see it burn from the shore.

I am posting this in the light of recent comments made about Joe Saward by Group Lotus in their latest press release. Re: Group Lotus ends title sponsorship of Lotus F1 team
Group Lotus, the car company, has changed hands with proton (parent company) , and it is rumoured that the new investors aren't interested in the Lotus car firm. I suspect this is a move by Lopez to make it easier for him to buy out the Lotus car firm and unite it fully with the F1 team.

I'm gonna put my neck on the line here and say Ogier is as good as or better than Loeb. He was running third or fourth in a fwd s2000 car at the monte this year before crashing out. Different engine would be a very interesting concept, you could run f1 like tarmac rallies, cars with more power have a higher minimum weight. all engines could be tested by the FIA and given minimum car weights.
