Re: Canada 2019: Vettel Penalty
I just realized that Ricciardo did in fact compare the incident to Monaco 2016: "If he pulls a little further to the left, he'll spin. When he brakes on the grass, he'll spin too. There was not much room for Lewis but still enough.I had an identical situation with Lewis in 2016 Monte Carlo. He had ...

Re: Victories (or other achievements) that should be overtur
The scrutineers were wrong. The DSQ was quashed by the FIA court of appeal. 5 Technical Expert judges ruled on the matter. It wasn't a compromise. It wasn't a gray area. It was an absolute overturn of an incorrect decision and an unequivocal statement that the bargeboards were legal. I reiterate, D...

Re: Victories (or other achievements) that should be overtur
I've thought of one. The Ferrari win that was taken away and given back in Malaysia 1999. Ferrari had illegal bargeboards and everyone knew it. The stewards made a mistake in impounding the barge boards but not the whole car and thus couldn't conclusively prove they had been run illegally. Dennis g...

Re: Ferrari International Assistance
So, no examples of anti-Ferrari decisions? The point system change, apparently the only one, did only " hurt" Ferrari in the sense that they had to wait longer for securing the titles since it obviously did not touch their technical superiority. For me, however, the really big issue that the techni...

Re: Team orders at Mercedes
I think what we saw today made it 100% clear that Bottas and Hamilton and equals and Mercedes race each race to maximise the team result. Bottas did his usual, only good on one compound tyre. Not a single race has he been strong on both, even with his charge last race in Silverstone, his pace was a...

Re: FIA to investigate Vettel/Hamilton clash
there is swearing in the general sense, and then there is a driver telling the race controller directly in no uncertain terms, where to go and what to do, a message that was then broadcast for the masses to hear. Oh please. The FIA choose what to broadcast and what not, if the point is really "WON'...

Re: Forum opinion on Vettel/Hamilton incident
Hamilton absolutely broke article 39.10 and was way over 10 car lengths (pretty much after turn 14) behind the Safety Car before the yellow lights went off, so no way is he blameless. In fact he should receive a penalty for that. I'm not sure how he gets away with slowing down being "necessary" whi...

Re: Why I am seriously considering turning off F1
To me the biggest issue is the non existence of Belligerence. I'm sorry but as a die hard Tifoso, The greatest joy for me, whether Ferrari was winning or not winning, was the battle with Mclaren, and to a lesser extent Williams. Nowdays, everybody is a good guy. Hamilton has changed in my mind from ...

Re: Barcelona Testing
Actually, Bridgestone/Ferrari pushed for the one-tyre rule for 2005 since Bridgestone tyres appeared to be much more durable than Michelin's in the years before. Ironically it turned out the other way ... Ok so that blows the theory of the FIA trying to even things up after 2004 right out of ...

And someone in the audience of the press conference obviously knew how full of sh*t Brawn was :D ... Yes, that would be one way of looking at it, Mr. Brawn overtly lies at an FIA press conference. Here's another way: Mr. Dupasquier knows the rule language is nebulous. Has a meeting attended by 2? o...

Re: 2003 - did Schumacher win the title in the third best ca
The change made by Michelin to their tyres for the last 3 races had no impact on either championship whatsoever. At Monza Williams simply had too much downforce and were too slow. At Indianapolis the Bridgestone Inters' were so superior MS just demolished everyone in the rain, and at Japan Montoya ...
