Re: F1 commentary 2012 - a comparison of four TV channels

All we get here on in the Northwest corner of the States these days is NBC sports. So, just think Speed channel along with Hobbs and Matchet, both of whom I like, Take out Varsha....most of the time and add a rabid Ausie with a speach impediment. He has to stop talking to take a breath now and then....

The much awaited China Grand Prix F1.

Three bloody weeks of endless speculation are at and end tonight starts the 3rd round. Here we go on the 3rd race of the season. Much anticipated by many of us because of the events leading up to it. So!? Will the pits call the race. How will the tyres fare. What about the weather. Have McLaren got ...

Re: The Official F1 & Motorsport Books Thread

Almost through "Flat out, Flat Broke" McCarthy's writing is as frantic as his driving, he just tries too hard. Got to put a funny line in to cap every situation. Some did have me laughing though. Guess back then if you weren't sure you were going home that night...or ever again... you might as well ...

I just like the way you spelt ludicrous. :) Q. which is correct; spelled or spelt? I use which ever sounds 'right' to me, but is there a rule? Anyway, on topic, before you judge motorsports, first you have to define what 'sport' actually means. Both, apparently. http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/spelt#...

Im huge Ferrari fan, if they stopped racing, Id stop watching. There would be no point. I watch to see red win. When Alonso crashed out last weekend, I shut it off. No point. I knew Massa would not be able to take Red Bull by himself. Then the race went to fairy cakes with Mercedes and red Bull pul...

Here's another classic, perhaps not a pretty as the Merc. Stirling Moss's Lotus after the win in Monaco. Beating off the favourites the Shark Nosed Ferrari's This on is special because of the driver a real F1 racing nut who'd go to races with his good friend Jackie Stewart and try and keep out of si...

I went to Spa in 2011 and was standing at the top of Eau Rouge when Sutil lost it and lost his front wing. There's a tiny hole in the fence and a girl climbed through it and nicked the entire wing and hid it in a couple of dustbin bags. Don't know how far she managed to get with it, but it was funn...

Scouse asked if any else had a story. I was at the Ulster TT in 1955 & saw some of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen. The W196 in drag (300SLR) as scouse calls it with the desmodromic motor opened out to 3000cc won the race driven by Moss & John Fitch who died quite recently. The race was ma...

I'm not sure if it was the same time as the race I saw Moss and Fangio in the F1 Merc. But they raced Mercedes sports cars at Aintree as well. We, my brother and I went in to the track via our favourite gate. Down to the bottom of the road, over the fence and across the cemetery, over the railway an...
