Re: 2016 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
I was amazed at Lewis backing Nico up! I thought he was better than that. Hoping the others would collide with or take Nico out? Risky and very unsporting at this stage of Lewis's great career and after proving again that he was the faster driver this season. Not good. majority of the p...

Re: Nico Rosberg 1st Corner
I say there's no way Nico takes Lewis out in the first lap. He's smart enough to know that A) he has a 19 point lead which is enough if he finishes 2nd, B) he'd undoubtedly be blamed for taking out Lewis no matter how accidental it would appear.

Re: Official Australian GP Qualifying thread
The new qualifying format is a new low, about as bad as the 2005's first six race weekends where the grid was decided by the aggregate times of single-lap runs in two quali sessions. And Ecclestone's original idea of a reversed grid for the top 10 would have a been similar disaster because drivers w...

Nico is precise, 0.002 faster than Lewis. Only go just a tad bit faster than others. But nobody's perfect, that's why it wasn't 0.001 sec.

Mercedes made a major error but Lewis bears part of the blame for the loss. He could have easily rejected the call to pit but didn't. Oh please, surely even Lewis haters can not put blame at Lewis on this one. The call to pit itself isn't Hamilton's fault but him being the driver in the lead and kno...

Re: Why were Merc telling their drivers....
I'm disappointed that Hamilton wasn't fitted with the softer tires for the final stint in the race. I know they were used tires because of the qualifying and may not have worked for catching Vettel but Hamilton said in the team radio right after the pitstop that "this is the wrong tire mate". He cou...

Firstly if you don't like Nascar why comment. Secondly playoffs in the NHL are a great way of doing things. Much better than a one game decides all. Ita s seven game series more often than not the best side will win. Why comment on a message board :uhoh: Playoffs works for NHL, but for autoracing i...

I wouldn't care as Nascar is a joke anyways. You have made it repeatedly clear what you think of NASCAR, is there any reason you have to poison every NASCAR thread with your opinion about it? How have I been making it repeatedly clear when it's the first time I've commented on Nascar? It's boring b...

Re: 2003 - did Schumacher win the title in the third best ca
Probably not. Schumacher may have been regarded as the best driver at the time, but it would say it was not exactly vintage season from Schumacher. He made some rather uncharacteristic mistakes at Sepang, Interlagos, Nurburgring and Suzuka. Plus he had some bad luck in Australia and Germany. Lookin...

Re: Schumacher's best season?
For the best season 1995. Schumacher's 1998 Hungary win has always been exaggerated as it was more of a McLaren screw-up in terms of race strategy, Mika had a failing car so he was never going to win the race and the team didn't waive Coulthard past him soon enough.

Re: How does Lewis approach tomorrow's race?
Realistically, the only thing I can see relegating Lewis to vice-champion is either technical gremlins in his car or his own mistake as the Williamses have constantly been further behind in race than in qualifying. Therefore, take the race as it comes.

Re: what's your strategy if you were Rosberg?
Rosberg has to go out as hard as he can. He can only win the title if he wins and Hamilton has a nightmare. Win the race, worry about the points afterwards. Doing a Senna and trying to disadvantage your opponent directly pretty much died in 1997. What if Rosberg gets ahead at the start and tries th...

Would be pretty ironic if Ferrari produced a world-beater for next season and Vettel sailed to another title. That would be the final proof there's no justice in this world.

Magnussen because he has the potential to be better than Button currently is. In his first season he's faster than Button and as he gets more experience he's going to iron out the current mistakes.

One season! They're no longer a rookie after that ;) And not many can do it in their first season unless you get a top car right away. Lewis was the last to do so I think? Or we could count Vettel as well as he won with STR which was his first FULL F1 season. Others I remember winning in their firs...
