Good to see Norris finally able to deliver on a wet quali, he usually is dead fast but somehow fails to get a lap on due to track limits or crashing in Spa.
Hamilton showing class is permanent, he has always been one of the GOATs in the wet, and good to see he hasn't lost it

Crazy lap from Norris i guess
But how the hell can you delete a lap time so nobody understands it needs beating, and then put it back at the end...

Reactionary take due to poor form from Leclercs season opening. Before 2024 Ferraris woes have been Ferrari and I say this as a fan. They've lost more points for Leclerc than Leclerc has lost for Leclerc. Is it reactionary... Leclerc has generally been a better driver than Sainz but only managed to...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?
Barrichello going into 1996, an aged Brundle joined the team for his last season in F1. Barrichollo whitewashed him at the start of the season, something like 8-0. However, interestingly, the second half of 1996 once Brundles was possibly more comortable, he out qualified Rubens 5-3. He also pretty...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?
The relevance lies is that Bottas for all intents and purposes is not an accurate yardstick, this has been clear all along, and we can see that play out at Sauber. That gets countered with excuses as in “Bottas does not really try” or “Bottas is only good in a top car”. That than leads some to give...

Re: 2024 Australian Grand Prix Race Thread
No, I don't think a driver should take his eyes off the track for more than a split second when closely fighting and trying to overtake another driver. Perhaps this demonstrates a limitation in Russell's armour and it further fuels doubts about his ability overall. They make numerous switch changes...

Great lap from Perez, he looked great through the mid sector, pushing it Looked to me like he had to kill his tyres to even be close to max in s1 and s2 then he massively fell off s3. Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?
Hamilton has been sitting on the top of the pile for 8 years (2014-2020). The inherent problem is that many factors contributed to that outcome. Bottas sometimes matching and even outperforming Hamilton is something that potentially weighs against his legacy, rather than for it. Barrichello was con...

Re: Is Hamilton ruining Max’s legacy?
Nobody expected Barrichello to beat Schumacher, but some expected Barrichello to run him close. I don't think the same can be said of Bottas with respect to Hamilton when he joined Mercedes. Barrichello didn't run Schumacher close and Bottas didn't run Hamilton close, If the perception was that Bar...

Just checked on Wikipedia (it is a very long time ago), Barrichello beat all of his teammates from his debut in 1994 to his switch to Ferrari at the back end of 1999. Tou do realise that this impression is also based on circular logic. Bottas was not trounced by Hamilton, therefore he must be pretty good in a top car. There are other explanations possible of course that do not paint Bottas’ performances in such a great light. Hamilton is a known quantity that's ...

It's a circular argument anyway. Bottas was closer to Hamilton than Perez is to Verstappen. I think something that is being missed here just observing is the difficulty passing/following conparivetly between 2019 and 2022. There's a fair few races in 2022 where Max would have lost without the incredibly easy passes he could make in 2022 (e.g. Spa). In 2019 starting down the grid for whatev...

Some may think that while others will realise that Red Bull are a far better team and Verstappen has a dominant car with no competition. So the same as Hamilton in 2019 and 2020? I don't think it's enough to make a difference. Depends on what you value in a driver. Broadly speaking, you can categorize driver performance in 3 separate scenarios. 1. How they perform in dominant conditions 2. How they perform in equal best car 3. How they perform in an inferior car I also put ...
