Re: NBC Sports put Indy Car during the F1 qualifying
Not related to the NBC converage, but the TSN coverage was just as bad with all of Q1 not being shown in place for a CFL game , then Q2 and Q3 had sound problems all throughout with either only commentary and no engine sounds or only engine sounds and no commentary. but back to NBC, maybe they labe...

are there any support races in Korea? i seem to remember in 2011, i think it was, where the commentators said that there were no support races. The commentators who said that are incorrect, there were support races in both 2011 and 2012. It was the SUPERRACE series that is run in South Korea, a kin...

anyone else think that one of the reasons changes were made were so that F1 laptimes and Indy Car lap times couldnt be compared? if im not mistaken, the F1 lap times would blow the indy car times out of the water

Re: An assessment of DRS zones on each track
my philosophy for DRS is to create new overtaking points, not to make current ones easier. Australia: Seems about right to me too, id leave it as is. Malaysia: Id remove them on the 2 long straights and put it after corner 8, going down the the hairpin at turn 9. the current ones are too long and to...

Can the race director speak to drivers during race?
does the race director have the ability to speak to any or all of the drivers during the race? For example, for any reason, if the field is taking a long time to form up on the grid could Charlie radio the drivers to pick it up? Or during saftey car periods, could he radio the drivers, or the leader...

Does F1 need a rival open-wheel series?
Does F1 need a rival series to maybe help bring down costs for teams and fans and to help fan participation and to give more power to the teams? The obvious series for this would be Indy Car, back in the early 90s i cud see CART as a rival series, but now theres no denying that Indy Car is strugglin...

If they were to reintroduce lower and wider rearwings I would be very pleased. Not sure if they would work with DRS though so I guess the have to remove that too! if they went back to 2008 spec rear wings, then the DRS slot could not be as big as it is now to compensate for the larger win...

Re: Comparison of the car speeds in the 21st century.
Drivers nowadays don't push the car to the limit because the tires will die within a couple of laps if they do. You can't really tell which cars are faster based on race times alone. Looking at qualy times might be closer to accurate but they can also be skewed by tires, fuel loads, etc. what about...

Its something ive been wondering for a while. On the older tracks like Spa, Monza, and Silverstone, all the corners have names. But on the more recent tracks the corners are just numbered out, minus the exception being the Singapore Sling, but that isnt really a determined name for the corner its ju...

Its Tony George's fault. He ruined open wheel racing int he USA in 1996. Looking at the stands at an Indy Car race tells the whole story. But.... The Canadian GP is one of the most attended races on the F1 Calender, and there was 150,000+ at Austin last year.

Yeah, NBC's totally better than Speed, and super better than Fox, but, I've not been watching the races that much, because, frankly, the trio of Varsha/Matchett/Hobbs had this electricity which made them not only the best team covering F1 or racing, but the best sports broadcasting team of all!
