Re: Rosberg Vs Hamilton Spanish gp crash. The debate

I think thats 50/50 imo. Rosberg covered him too late and I think he was surprised by the closing speed. That being said, if there was a wall there would Hamilton have tried to send one up the inside? I think he placed a hell of alot of trust in Rosberg to give him space and essentially yield first ...

Ferrari are (rightly) going to veto the fairy cakes out of this. I read somewhere that it might not be possible for them to do so under the terms of their veto arrangement. Can't remember exactly but IIRC they'd have to argue they'd be at a disadvantage and that would be difficult IIRC, Ferrari's v...

It seems Honda knows where the problem lies, and what they need to fix it. Using a new turbo housing will improve the power and harvesting for next year, but unless they can sort out the reliability, which there is no real reason they have not this year, they are still going to be rubbish. It's not really that surprising. This is it's 3rd year and the honeymoon period is very much over, now is the time where the people footing the bill are starting to ask themselves if it's worth it, and the answer is probably not.

In terms of ICE power maybe, but I'm doubtful Ferrari have matched them on the ERS side of things. I'm also sceptical about that Ferrari chassis, I don't think it's that good. I think it's solid, but If this wasn't such an engine dominated formula, I reckon the chassis would still be in the region o...

I wish they had let him stay out. He's right, there's no risk, the titles are decided, let them go at each other for once. Shouldn't Hamilton help Rosberg secure 2nd place in the WDC? Let's not forget his "no gusts of wind" remark in the press conference either. I kinda felt like Alonso has given up. After his "if we're not scoring points I'm retiring" message from Austin, then telling the team after 3 corners "I'm retiring"... Most drivers would question the loss in power and then wait for the team to see if it could be fixed. There was none of that, just...

Imagine losing like that, and sitting in that chair. Then the winner takes the #2 hat and throws it in your lap. Honestly, Hamilton was asking for drama right there.

Considering how little have they improved so far (using most of them), they might need hundreds of tokens to beat Mercedes Their problems are ERS related (specifically compressor IIRC). They need to redesign their compressor and that's not something you can do with the amount of tokens they have. M...

Hmmm... Yes, I think there has to be a trade off between the two, obviously, and the example of Honda and Mercedes has nothing to do with it. One is a failure of design and the other is a success, and one is much more developed and tested than the other. You can get up to 500-600hp out of a 2 liter...

Yes, these new PU's cost more, but that's not the full story. The V8s were subsidised as part of Max Mosley's cost cutting efforts. While the V8s indeed cost customer teams around £8 million compared to the £20 million of the V6s. In real terms the V8s actually cost around £15 million each, but Mosl...
