Re: red bull front camera. declared illegal

This is stupid. First of all, the externally mounted cameras are hideous and kill the look of the cars. As well, the positioning of Red Bull's camera gives a better perspective than side mounted cameras. Either way that opening is rather cumbersome for air flow so who cares? Clearly not cumbersome ...

The formation lap doesn't count as a lap of the race event therefore is not part of the race that is restricted by the 100kg fuel limit. Lights out to flag is the only part covered by 100kg fuel usage

Not sure why people say Rosberg was faster in Bahrain, Hamilton won the race and was ahead from lap 1, his teammate unable to pass him, lost over 10 seconds in the second stint and when positioned <1 second behind Hamilton on the quicker tyre, was again unable to pass. How was Rosberg faster? Becaus...

You have to qualify on the track you are racing on, otherwise qualifying is useless and you may as well do random grid slots. If the race would work, I see no reason why qualifying would not work also.

I think Spa is the only circuit that an entire calendar could be raced on and we would all be happy with.

Shows how well liked the track is.

Reverse Spa, at least in my imagination, sounds amazing.

My main issue with the gearbox penalty is the same one I have with drive through penalties, it is an inconsistent penalty from track to track. If you get a 5 place grid drop in Monaco, like we saw with Shumacher, you may as well not turn up on Sunday. Get the same penalty in Canada and you still hav...

Jenson has shown previously that if a car is quick and built to suit him he can and will stick it on pole. You could argue that this years McLaren was more suited to Lewis and Jenson still managed to take a dominant pole in Spa, so if the 2013 car suits him and his style, you can expect him to have ...

In all my days, I don't think I ever expected Valencia to be winning a poll in "Best Race". It's fantastic, I also feel that seeing that I missed it in the OP, I feel that China should get an honourable mention, brilliant race.

Also Malaysia, only because I won £750 from Checo getting a podium :D

I suppose the easiest way to explain the point regarding the "making up ground" point you make is: Say the performances maximum of any given car on, for example, Spa, is 100% with 100% being a perfect lap in a cap perfectly suited to the circuit, considering today's regulations. If a back marker goe...

I think consistency is the biggest problem, definitely. It's just tough to discover a system that is consistent when we are using humans to make the call, and the call isn't as simple as "over the line or not". I think greater transparency would help. Presumably the FIA would contact the team to giv...

Just read on autosport (sorry, no link, on phone) that the FIA are going to have a meeting in Paris to review and update the penalty system in F1, citing the need to review due to penalties being handed out that are too weak in some cases and too strong in others. The off-throttle blowing wasn't the problem, it was the electronically controlled usage of the gasses to aid downforce around the diffuser when the driver wasn't on the throttle that was the problem. Because it would cause similar controversy as last year when they tried to ban EBD's at Silverstone. I understand what you are getting at, but its impossible, the only way they could force that is by pointing the exhausts straight up in the air, and even then, the air passing over the car would force at least some of the exhaust gas onto the rear wing, which would, under Wikipedia's definition of t...

Its impossible to stop the gases having any positive effect on the car, pointing them anywhere would at least generate thrust, the only way the FIA can police it is what they have done; limit the placement of the exhausts. They wanted rid of EBD's and they have done just that. They can't unfortunate...
