Re: Winning Streaks in the Lewis Hamilton Era

It is no coincidence that 2 of the longest winning streaks came from 2 Red Bull drivers (Vettel and now Verstappen). The dominance of this team(operations, strategy, team dynamics, aerodynamics) is even superior to any kind of dominance Verstappen could have against any driver. I have watched long e...

Re: Rank Hamilton and Verstappen's teammates

Having a weak teammate means you still win the race even if you give him a 8 - 15 seconds headstart. This is the "comfortable" situation Verstappen enjoys now. A stronger teammate in either of these races would be enough to deny Max his consecutive wins record. Miami (Max started 9th, Checo on Pole...

Re: The big 6 then the rest?

Max Verstappen is riding the perfect wave. 1. it is miles easier to overtake these years(regulations plus the RedBull super DRS) 2. team mate is non existent 3. competition behind RedBull is lacking Compare all of this with the Vettel's years where the only option was to put the car on pole and run ...

All this talk about straight line speed ignores the fact that Verstappen overtook Hamilton by outbraking him. He was still fully behind before the braking zone going into 12. Re: How many races will Verstappen win this season.

Hamilton did get 2 races though. Yeah, 2 opportunities to be taken out. I would prefer as a driver Spa 2022 to Brazil 2021. How does that work  He's still got the same amount of cars to pass. I'd sooner have 120 minutes of racing than 90 minutes of racing if I was starting at the back in fast ...

Verstappens pace in Belgium was akin to Hamilton in Brazil '21. The car just made everyone else look like they were playing a computer game with the AI level turned a bit down. Obviously a chunk of that is down to the driver too, but you're not making it look that effortless without a clear car adv...

Re: How many races will Verstappen win this season.

The irony of people claiming that Hamilton had to fight “harder” at Brazil 2021 is that Hamilton only had to fight hard because Verstappen himself was willing to cross the line to keep a car that was obviously much faster behind him. At Brazil 2021, Hamilton was already up to second by lap 19. The ...

Re: How many races will Verstappen win this season.

I'm sorry but Spa was obviously car not driver. And with it being Red Bull you wonder where it ends. Remember at the end of 2013 Vettel was the fastest driver in the world for most. He left Redbull and quickly got found out. Most wouldn't have him in their top 10 now. Spa was both car and driver, a...

Re: How many races will Verstappen win this season.

The reality of 15 wins is still utter dominance. Utter dominance by team or driver though. The cars have been very close so far but the season has been utterly dominated by Verstappen. It's a 1995, 2001, 2018-esque level of driver dominance at the moment. What about the teams? As usual this element...

The 2 cars are so evenly matched we should have a cracking championship on our hands. To be fair I think the Hulk > Sainz comparison is one of the most unrepresentative comparisons and highlights the weaknesses with the system, especially with just one year of data. RedBull is the best combat machine since forever(look up at my post from 2015/2016) and I wish Lewis was driving that car. Its not due to a Verstappen win, Hamilton has won 1 race in 9 in which period Verstappen has won 6 times.
