Re: Poll: What should the FIA do with the DRS system?
Scrap it, make the cars significantly smaller and reduce the size of brakes as longer braking distances will aid passing.

Slow Zones would negate the majority of SC situations whilst still allowing racing around three-quarters or more of the circuit.

He messed up a fast section and crashed. Max messed up a slower section so didn't crash, but still paid a huge penalty, It's not as simple as judging something by a car hitting a barrier or not.ChapmanBaxter wrote: ↑Sat May 06, 2023 9:01 pmTop tier driver Leclerc? No way crashes far too often.

Re: F1 presenters and commentators
I don't mind Crofty at all. Yes, he makes some mistakes but don't we all? Overall, he sounds enthusiastic which is important for the main commentator. Brundle is good but maybe he needs replacing with his son. The biggest problem is that when they've been around the sport for a very long time, they ...

Re: F1 is becoming more Americanised and shares some similarities to nascar.
Personally, I have never analysed the rule and format changes to think about what other sport they are seemingly mimicking. My biggest gripe is that the sport is slowly moving away from its traditions and is seemingly far more interested in getting new, quick-fire fans, rather than pleasing those of...

So Red Bull are the only team to run their drivers for a full day with the other day split, while everyone else splits each day in half. To me it makes sense to give each driver a full day each as you don’t waste time doing seat swaps etc at lunchtime, but on the basis nine teams don’t do that, wha...

Half an hour to to go of testing on day 1 and the only thing we can deduce for certain at this stage is that the championship will be a close fought battle between Verstappen and Alonso. It's only testing, don't forget. Can hardly tell whether it will be a close battle between them or if one of the...

Re: 2023 Pre-Season Test Thread (Bahrain)
Limiting testing was brought in for cost cutting and only really served to make costs escalate. Very much agree. Now that we have a budget cap and any testing days would come out of it (and be very easy to track as well), the argument for reduced testing is hard to see. On-track testing is better f...

As someone who teaches in a Primary school, getting children to spell their names correctly is a mammoth task for some. When they have both double-barrelled first and surnames, it's a nightmare.

I'm liking the fact that a lot of this year's cars are fairly simple in design. I much prefer cars with one or two main colours on them, maybe with the odd stripe or two. Overly fancy paint schemes don't really do it for me in F1. They will hopefully all look brilliant on track together.

I wonder how much of a change we will see between 2022 and 2023 cars. 2009-10 and 2014-15 had fairly large visual changes. With regard to sidepods, I'm guessing that some will look very similar, there are rumours Ferrari is sticking with the same basic design, whilst others will have decided long a...

The big issue here is not that Max chose not to give the place back in the race, but that he openly told them that he had already told them not to ask him to do this and asked them if this was clear. He is basically acting like the boss, not the employee.
