A shocking, disappointing and disturbing lack of Olympics mentions.
I'm watching as much of the Olympics as possible. I just kept my earlier post to motorsport. I'm also indoor bouldering about 3 times a week too.

Re: 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread

Clearly, Bottas made a mistake and I have no issue with his penalty, but I too believe he's been overly slated for it. He was squeezed between two cars, backed off, probably then went on the gas again before braking too late. In those conditions, you only have to be a tiny fraction of a second too l...

Seen a replay of the Spa accident. Horrifyingly similar to the Hubert accident, I hope they don't overreact and butcher Raidillon over this. Didn't Albon do this for Red Bull. Is there something in it that it's not allowed to be a current driver if yours? Current drivers can test them with their team, but I believe there as rules regarding the car you use, the number of laps and restrictions on data the team takes. Pirelli takes all the...

Re: Could Hamilton have won the race with this tactic?

My guess is that he would have been blacked flagged for staying on track at such a slow speed for so long. It would have been assumed that there was a car issue and he wasn't retiring himself by stopping and getting out.

I must say, it's very sad for Vettel and AM, but it's not a tricky rule to follow and rules are rules. Just one of those things.

Just like DQs for cars running aero pieces that are too big or whatever.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's an appeal over that.
Don't see how they can. The FIA attempted to remove enough fuel and managed 0.3l. Aston Martin were allowed, with the FIA watching on, to attempt to remove more but failed to get enough. Game over, I'd say.
