I think there's a touch of confirmation bias going on here; I'm sure there are plenty of counter examples that could be cited. This year's aero reg changes for instance, that suited Red Bull's aero concept and hindered Mercedes.
Hey, stop spoiling a good conspiracy theory!

I suppose this all makes a change from spending year after year of hearing that the FIA stands for Ferrari International Assistance.

Re: FIA and Mercedes

Last year when DAS was discovered & banned from this year, FIA did allow Mercedes to keep using DAS for the rest of the '20 season as a freepass. They left it because the regs basically didn't seem able to find it illegal It was something that they simply couldn't overrule with the current regs. So...

Re: FIA and Mercedes

If it is Mercedes that have noticed dodgy things. then good on them for bringing it up with the FIA. By the way, are there any pictures on-line that show what they are talking about? Sure - but when they do dodgy things it is considered innovation (such as DAS, which never should have been allowed ...

I agree, If course it would be much better for children to not give a damn, and THAT'S THE ENTIRE POINT of campaigns. It's not to draw attention to people being different but to realise they aren't. Re: Mercedes vs Red Bull - 2021

This. Whist it's so close, small mistakes can make all the difference. Hamilton can count himself fortunate that his one big mistake (Imola) did not cost him 18 (or 19, considering that he nagged FL as well) points. What I do like is that both protagonists seem to be reveling in the fight. Let's be...

Re: 2021 Spanish Grand Prix Race Thread

This track is really not needed. Drivers were finding it hard to even pass with DRS. And what benefit did turn 10 deliver? This circuit has been poor for F1 for years. The final chicane made no difference in allowing passing down the main straight and actually removed a fast, exciting bit of track....

Re: The Race as One Initiative

Children will only do things if people say good things to them first. That's the basics of education. I'm not defending F1, especially going to SA this year, but the fundamental message is a good one. But surely F1's do what I say not what I do attitude is a terrible lesson to teach children? Tricky one of Charles. If Bottas was ahead and leaving him behind, Charles could perhaps lap faster than he is and be pulling away more from the pack. As it is, he may be being a little defensive which is often slower. Can't believe Bottas isn't going to beat him over the entire race.
