Whatever anyone thinks of the incident, there are and have been hundreds of F1 drivers who have committed numerous big mistakes and never apologised so humbly as Russell did for this one.

Credit to him.

Well safe to say this disaster of an idea is now pretty much dead. Football will probably forget this now, but it would be great if it could be use a catalyst for some change in the game. I see Ed Woodward has resigned and there are strong rumours that Stan Kroenke is going to sell Arsenal soon. Th...

I see Boris Johnson doesn't agree with this. He doesn't seem to think that leaving a large, successful organisation with dreams of going it alone, is a good thing. :uhoh:

Re: 2021 Emilia Romagna (Imola) Grand Prix Race Thread

I do remember those things. A near-total lack of passing is boring, but I don't really get more entertainment from cars cruising past because they have DRS enabled. I would venture today that without DRS in the dry there would have been no overtaking, it comes across as it being a crime for a much ...

Re: 2021 Emilia Romagna (Imola) Grand Prix Race Thread

For info, the first season I have a decent memory of is 1986. Then why can't you remember these things, people use to complain about how boring F1 was because of the lack of overtaking and often would compare it to Indycars which was seen as being far better in that respect. Max Mosley's response w...

It appears that America has 15 grade 2 circuits. I can't imagine there isn't one or two of them that couldn't be made grade 1 without destroying the circuit's integrity.

And by the way, why is F1 always so behind American racing when it comes to onboard camera technology?

Hamilton has just taken it to new levels, normally people only get salty when he wins, he needs penalising, the SC rule stinks, DRS stinks, DRS has a habit of coming up more when used by Hamilton. Then on this track there would be no overtaking, I wait with bated breath when this issue rears it's head again. I think Mercedes will be much happier with this result. SC, Red flag helped Hamilton to get to P2 in the end which I think was going to be the best result for them anyways. HAM reversed on the track - isn't that an automatic penalty? Can someone with more knowledge of the rules clarify?
No. You can't reverse in the pitlane but you can on track, unless you pose a risk to others while rejoining.
Is that the rule or your opinion? Just wanna be sure.
Rule.

And although no solution is perfect, Lewis going off, taking ages to get out of the gravel, doing nearly an entire lap with a broken wing, pitting to change the wing and being a lap down, now probably finishing in second, is rather silly for such a high profile sport.

I don't think he did. He took it off but could be seen holding it in his hands during the 10-second penalty. Then they swapped it once allowed.
