Re: IndyCar 2021

This is a very enjoyable race and it's a pretty tense finish, Yes, he hasn't got to do much to win the championship, but being a street circuit, one tiny mistake and it's possibly all over.

Fanboyism is the term in play. Can’t criticise Max and can’t praise Lewis unfortunately. OK, I'll bite. Could you enlighten me as to whose fanboy I'm supposed to be? :smug: I think you highlighted that when using the terms about your fellow semi countryman and not being able to see Max got lucky to...

Re: Should Bottas be sacked?

I'm no fan and yet he seemed to make no attempt to keep Max behind, but a part of me doesn't blame him. I know he's paid a lot of money to race for Mercedes, but he probably knew that Max would pass pretty quickly due to the significant DRS shown at the circuit today. So, letting Max through and mai...

Impossible to do these votes i find the sky coverage terrible
What does Sky have to do with judging driver quality?
You dont get to see the strengths/weaknesses of drives down the field
That has nothing to do with Sky.

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Russian Grand Prix

Norris was brilliant for most of the race but other than having to pass Sainz, he just did what so many drivers do out front, drive consistently and quickly. Then, when the rain came, he made two mistakes, three if you consider that perhaps he should have forced an earlier stop for inters if the tea...

. Certainly you can give it to Norris (I did). I think the person who is marginal yes/no is Verstappen, great carving up the field, but he really got lucky with the rain. Hamilton did well, but he really shouldn't have had to rely on the rain for his 100th win. . He didn't rely on the rain. He drov...

So, what penalty is normal for cutting the pit lane line? Due to the fact it was so late in the race, a drive-through wasn't possible if that is the norm. I have forgotten.
It should be just 5. That is what Hamilton got in germany 2019.

Thing is, Hamilton's relatively poor start was no worse than Sainz's getaway. However, Lewis has boxed in and had to brake a little early to avoid a possible incident at the first braking zone. Sainz had a nice run in clear air after drafting Norris.

Yes. There will be attempted undercuts as soon as they can come out in clear air. At the moment, those behind would come out in another train if they pitted now.

Re: 2021 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread

The more I think about it the more it sounds like Bottas is there to hinder Max. It makes sense because if he can back him up for the entire first stint, that could easily put him more than a pit stop behind the top 10. If Bottas is in the top 5 and waits for Max to possibly catch up, Max still gets...

It would be far worse if actually the case. But I think it's clearly not. It would make no sense and you'll see that in the race. If suddenly Bottas is just sitting in 16th and not moving through the field you'll have a point. If they both race through the field and Bottas isn't holding him up at a...
