The new penalty points system will make a change. Grosjean could be on negative points by the end of the season.

Re: So, Ferrari's 2014 line-up?
Unfortunately, if Massa is replaced at Ferrari, it'll probably be Hulkenberg (not likely though, given Ferrari's reluctance to hire drivers with Nico's current level of experience). In that case, if Massa was to stay in F1, he'd slot straight back into the Sauber to see out his career... Why? If Ma...

Re: So, Ferrari's 2014 line-up?
I would really like to see Massa finish his career as a No:1 driver of a good team and the only way that seems likely is if Raikkonen moves to Red Bull leaving his Lotus open for Massa. If Raikkonen leaves, Massa is certainly the next best driver who would be immediately available to Lotus and so I ...

Re: So, Ferrari's 2014 line-up?
Exactly what I think is going to happen, unless Massa really goes downhill in the second half of the season... Massa is in the happy position that all he has to do to leave Ferrari is to go downhill. He would not be worse off anyway. He has to take the precaution of letting the prospective next emp...

I did not know that. Also, Renault have a history with small turbo engines, right? Wasn't their RS01 the first turbo engine used in F1?RacingFan1 wrote:Ferrari has almost always been about big, naturally aspirated engines, not turbos

Is there a reason for Ferrari to keep a driver who year after year keeps bringing less than 50% of the points than the other driver? Yes there is a very good reason. To show everyone that their favoutite driver is getting at least 50% more points than the other driver. It is all relative. I believe...

It'll be Massa barring a major change in philosophy from Ferrari. Not necessarily. Now that Webber has left, Massa will be aware that there could be potentially two good seats available - Webber's and his replacement's. He will also be aware that the other seat could at Lotus and he will plan to ma...

A great line-up to look forward to in 2014 would be:
Red Bull - Vettel and Raikkonen
Lotus - Massa and Kubica
Ferrari - Alonso and Kobayashi
with Merc and McLaren remaining as they are, of course

I would also be very surprised if it was Ricciardo. I am not sure that Raikkonen is a "thinking calculating driver". He is an instinctive driver but his instinctive reactions are more often right than otherwise. I thought Webber was pathetic. 2014 fuel regulations and engines
One of the more intersting aspects of the new F1 rules for 2014 cars is the restriction of the total amount of fuel available per race to 100kg compared with the present 150kg per car at the start. Since Renault engines are supposed to be more fuel efficient than Mercedes or Ferrari, will that part ...

Red Bull have created this situation. Partly by producing such good cars, partly by manipulating Newey's public image to make out he's a one-off genius. There's only so much credit to go around, if the designer is made out to be the star then the driver will miss out. Alonso, Schumi and Hamilton we...
