Re: Grand Prix Driver on Amazon
I worked at McLaren while they were filming and preparing this - I was part of Automotive so I couldn't say for certain but I think what you see in these 4 episodes is a heavily edited, condensed version of what was originally planned. I saw them filming sections with Jackie Stewart and I think this...

Yes I had looked at that, thankyou. Often personal experiences gives more formation. If you're unable to get some first-hand experience from others on the forum, have you considered doing a test run at a smaller event? http://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/vscc-pomeroy/ It's free entry to this, and i...

Re: Alfa Romeo name back to F1
I like it, it's minimal but I also liked the look of the 2010-2012 Saubers. There's another angle at https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/sauber-alfa-romeo-reveals-livery-985172/ I'm disappointed but not surprised to see Wehrlein out. Hopefully he can get a 3rd driver slot somewhere but where would he...

Re: Green or red tail lights on F1 cars
Oliver Turvey (who doesn't have a Super License) had a green light at the back - I don't have a link but it was featured in one of McLaren's twitter posts. What adds extra fuel to the Kubica hype train is that apparently the Super License is registered and paid for by the team, meaning that Williams...

Also worth noting Vettel's overall pitstop from entry to exit was 3-4 tenths faster than Bottas'. I'm not sure if the stop was faster or if Vettel cut it finer and was more aggressive on entry (and exit). Bottas was 2.7, Vettel was 2.1. If not for that Bottas might've been out ahead of Vettel. I don't mean to be disrespectful but I really like it when top drivers start from the back, at least you get to see some overtaking and it's interesting to see how far up the field they can get! Is it a driver pushing over the limit to get the most out of a slow/badly set-up car, or is it a lack of talent? Obviously Lotus/Renault and Haas have seen something in him for him to keep his place all this time, but it's hard not to be frustrated by yet another incident.

What if the customer teams had the majority of the financial penalty covered by the manufacturer? e.g - if it's a £500k engine penalty for Force India then Mercedes would cover £400k of that. Then it's less of a penalty to the teams with smaller budgets, and it encourages the manufacturers to produc...
