Re: Do Ferrari have an advantage at the starts?
Well iirc it's actually been pretty back and forth the past few years with a few standout starts from both. The thing is if you start first and Sprint away into the lead did you really get a good start? That out of the way there were some rumors about that pedal of sebs Ferrari being tied to the clu...

Re: Bold predictions for the rest of the season
Ever since 2008, there has been a pattern where in every even year, the championship is decided in the final race of the season. Therefore I reckon the WDC will still be alive in Abu Dhabi. And in every even year, Vettel makes more mistakes and generally struggles more than he did in the odd year p...

Re: We knew someone was going to crash
When it comes to driving the cars, give the drivers some respect and allow them to put their big boy pants on. On many aspects of racing (especially safety) drivers are not to be trusted. But they are supposed to be competent drivers and know how to drive their cars. So let's relax the track limits...

Re: We knew someone was going to crash
But the fact that it's possible to look at a high speed flat out corner and think yeah let's put a drs zone here. That is just risking it leaving it to the drivers. And then I remember when Fred was at Ferrari he had his drs stuck open from some malfunction in the wrong part of the track just becaus...

Okay maybe we didn't know it was RoGro but we had to know that letting drivers keep the drs open through a corner wasn't going to end well. Have you ever played the F1 game? I can barely hold my line in Russia on the not so straight with the drs open. We had to know that inviting a driver to turn wi...

They ought to grab one of the Red Bull boys not sure which, maybe Leclerc could be an option as well. Though I doubt Seb would welcome such a challange.

Anyone in US have trouble watching the race
I had to go far and wide to the subreddits of the internet, before I finally found a way to watch the race, I was so excited when ESPN messed up Australia and decided to run Ad free all year, but they tell me its on ABC this week and when I open it I get some parade instead. Really hoping this doesn...

If you change all the tracks to aid overtaking you just end up with 20 very similar layouts. None of which has any flow. Why do you presume so? There can't only be a couple of ways a track can be laid out to promote overtaking. There must be innumerable, the only obstacle thus far is discovering th...

Re: F1 headed to Miami?
Just saw the supposed track which was proposed. It looks awfully dangerous. The track runs over the port with 2 long straights over water, while this may be fine for a few years the first thing I feared was what if a driver gets launched into the sky and over the barriers towards the water. This cou...

Something I was thinking about during qualy... First off obviously crazy and fun race. Now, lets assume all equal engines... lets say perhaps one team makes a car geared to high downforce low top speed vs a team that makes a complete balanced approach vs a team that makes low downforce high top spee...

Why not give Kimi the benefit of the doubt
I just read the article describing the "outrage" of Kimi not checking on the mechanic after stopping his car in the pitlane. I don't quite understand this. Putting myself in Kimi's shoes I am thinking about a podium, come in for a stop and boom there goes my race. Am I supposed to check on the man s...

Ferrari Wheelbase affect Raikkonen's pace?
First off hats off to Hamilton on that lap he put together he was way on the edge. The surprise was that Kimi is on pace with Seb for me. I don't know if the set up gremlins from yesterday are still plaguing Seb? The other thing I thought of was back when Kimi was at Lotus w Grosjean they were field...

Shouldn't really be a surprise here... They know (and I agree) that Kvyat wasn't going to be a star. Sainz could be but they also received an attractive offer from Renault and if Red Bull isn't an option for him, then it was smarter to accept Renault's offer. Considering they have Honda engines nex...

So they start the year well with Kvyat and Sainz. 2 relatively highly regarded drivers. Sainz -> Renault, Kvyat torpedoes his own career, They bring Gasly in and Hartley two weeks later, Now Hartley starting last and Gasly 17? I think. Regardless they seem to be going backwards and instead of doing ...

I think a dog of a car is one with a bad chassis, and I mean in terms of balance. For me the Ferrari was a dog because it didnt move anywhere near where I would expect it when it rained. So if in the dry a car qualifies 6th and in the wet you find it down in 13th theres a serious problem there. Also...

With posts on the forum bashing backmarkers I'm thinking they could get points from reliability problems from other teams in the early going... Even a point would go a long way for them and with ten drivers scoring it's not entirely impossible

Getting back to the original question, I believe that a comparison is also being made with the GP2 cars. yes, they are approaching the lap times of Formula One cars, but there are very good reasons why this is happening. The first is the evolution of speed. Each year any racing car can get faster. ...

Very far-fetched, I know, but I cannot help but notice the similarities as I look back upon the seasons of 10 years ago. To be honest, if they stay on the track they have no real need to be troubling those curbs. It all stems from drivers not respecting the limits of the track really. When a driver is laid up in hospital with spinal injuries and contemplating his career, perhaps a specialist will think to look up fro...
