The 2 Clive James reviews.
I like the dry humour, occasional sarcasm. Especially when there were so many turbo engines expiring!
I really should try and find good quality versions of those, DVD or something.

I don't think I've watched MotoGP since really, to be honest. Mostly because of Stoner retiring I guess, but Simoncelli's death played a part. I do remember watching it live and seeing a rolling helmet... the absolute worst thing to see in a bike accident. I didn't see the Wheldon race live but it w...

This might be stupid question.. but would they even be able to design a canopy that would withstand a 250km/h crash into a tractor? Whilst still being able to see through it to drive... of course.

It wasn't exactly short. I had few tears well in my eyes as he was driving around without his helmet and pulled up after the race. Sad times. I suppose I'm supporting Ricciardo next year. I need to add "Pole in Abu Dhabi" because I made the journey there to watch him race one last time, so I was at the track to see him get pole. The race was a bit of a let down but still a podium. For me, Monaco 2005 (first podium was a huge fist pump moment even if the team dicked him out of 2nd), M...

Re: Mark Webber's Last Week
I've been following Webber since he was in F3000, and started F1 testing. I remember hearing on the radio in the school bus that he had been confirmed for Minardi in 2002 and I let out a victory "YES!" and everybody on the bus looked at me strangely. It will be sad to see him leave F1, but I'll stil...

Webber won't want a freebie, I'm sure a 1-2 for the team would be a great way to sign off. although I'd prefer a 2-1 :P See how we go, he has been qualifying well but getting stuck in traffic in races. In Texas he had a better start than Vettel, but Grosjean had a better start than both of them and ...

I will be very upset. I'm heading to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from Australia especially to see him race one last time (regardless of the chance of another DNF)

So Lotus is faster but financially unstable, McLaren has a dog of a car but have the finance. Who would you go to? I'd prefer to see Hulk in the faster car but heading for his 4th team he might rather the security of McLaren and bank on developing the car aided by their decent finances. I don't rate...

Re: Massa to Williams...?
The term you are looking for is not maturity, but erratic. As I said, Brundle said it best at Bahrain in 2006 "Felipe is a very fast driver, but he is VERY erratic." Fair call. On this basis though I think Williams will be the best seat he can get, I don't think he deserves to drive a Lotus. In a W...

Massa has proved to be hopeless over several seasons. I think his 2008 season has been blown out of proportion. His performance in seasons since proves that it was all car.. I've followed him since he started testing, when Aussie commentators were talking about him in F3000. That's about 12 years I think. I'm over the Webber/Vettel comparisons. Vettel is 20kg lighter so has an advantage when it comes to ballast, supposedly Mark's constant KERS issues are due to his larger frame forcing tighter packaging of the KERS unit or something. Vettel is just more consistent and never gets the dodgy clutch to g...

Basically, if the team allows it. All but matching Seb in quali still is a great achievement and you'd think with such speed he still should be able to win. I think we know Webber got D!CKED from 2009 onwards, and I think we know that Vettel is slightly faster. If Massa stays in F1 for 2014 and Webber doesn't I will be devestated..
Massa has been a hopeless spinning, wrecking, midfield driver for years now. A Hulkenburg/Massa swap is the only reason I'd cop Massa continuing.

I saw no issue with the strategy, I saw it panning out and I knew he couldn't hold off on his second batch of mediums long enough to for a feasible soft stint. Great start from Mark. Of course when it looked like he might pass Seb in the pits he had that horrible pit stop.
Another good recovery drive. It's clear he still has the speed that's why I'm disappointing he isn't racing on in F1.

Re: Webber backs Ricciardo to replace him at RBR
Being an Aussie I want Ricciardo in the 2nd Red Bull seat. He seems to show some real bursts of speed and not get involved in many incidents, which is ideal for securing the WCC.
It would be cool to see a Seb/Kimi shootout, but hopefully the Red Bull isn't the fastest car next year.

I outlined my reasons and they were more personality based, than based on the fact he always outqualifies my favourite driver (Webber, even though Webber is ARGUALBLY the better racer)
My Webber bias reasons are what make me cheer when Seb DNF's or damages his car by being arrogant.

I don't like him because he comes across as a whingy little child. A spoilt rich kid, etc.. and his success doesn't seem to have matured him. I'm not compatible with his sense of humour either.
