Re: questions you want answered thread.
cmax - Slipstreaming is the result of less downforce and air passing over the car, this hurts the following car through corners as it has less downforce, but along the straights it is beneficial to the following car as less air resistance = more top speed. So basically it hurts them in corners but ...

Re: questions you want answered thread.
When cars are racing when does the hot air from the front car end affecting the following car and slip stream begin? Something I was always curious about, mostly in the pre-DRS commentary where the commentator would go the hot air coming from the front car is affecting the following car which makes ...

Re: Did Martin Whitmarsh Intentionally Sabotage Jensons Pits
I've seen him skulking around at the back of the garage fiddling with Jensons tyre blankets.... and frankly I don't trust him. In fact, If you look carefully at the timestamps on the BBC footage you can clearly see him give the order to the left rear gun guy during Buttons stop... Obviously in the ...

I would add Grosjean to that list. he had an immense race yesterday, especially that battle with maldonado.FormulaFun wrote:i think the main 3 were Webber, Hamiton and Button as the likes of Perez, Kobayashi, and Kimi went backwards and Schumi got a DNF, obviously Rosberg raced and won from pole so

Re: What did Vettel say on the radio after the race?
Is it really any worse than Buttons "I've got know front grip!!!" or Alonso's "I give up" or Hamilton's "This is a terrible strategy" Or Barrichello's "bla bla bla"? It's just a Sebastian Vettel bash. Enjoy! I am amazed with the forum lately that anyone who is not doing well is attacked. Last year ...

Re: Did China answer the Vettel question?
Vettel was the best two stopper today, apart from the race winner.
As far as I can remember he did one overtake which was in all honesty
beautiful considering other drivers who tried the same move today in the same place
ended up running the marbles and going wide (Alonso and Grosjean).

I have no predictions about specific events but, assuming nothing crazy goes on (rain, mechanical retirements), I predict the following points scorers: 1. Hamilton 2. Raikkonen 3. Schumacher 4. Rosberg 5. Button 6. Webber 7. Perez 8. Vettel 9. Grosjean 10. Alonso I like this. Make it happen please....

Congrats to rosberg and his first P1 Qualifying position. Dam he nailed that time half a second quicker than anybody. Im thinking though in the race he wont have that much advantage. Is the W duct what is giving them such an advantage in qualifying as you can use the DRS throughout the lap. Well sh...

That thermal cam was pretty sweet. Hope they use that again without the bodywork on next time. There doesn't seem to be much going on 9 minutes into the session. If that is so then Button is on the clean side (according to the BBC graphics).Pritchard wrote:With the grid being closer to the final turn than turn 1 the racing line is on the right as well isn't it? Isn't the right hand side the clean side of the track?

Grid Position
Just watching last season's Malaysia race edit and it clearly shows Vettel pole grid position to be on the right side (next to pitlane wall). However, on the BBC graphics at the end of today's quali the grid positions were different and Lewi's slot was on the left similar to Australia. Has the posit...

Re: Give them all the same cars
If we gave them all the same cars, it would ruin the fun and the beauty. Not neccesarily. What we witnessed this morning were drivers who were considered to be not front runners showing that given the right car, can compete with the best and give us an exciting quali. It will also remove imo the pr...

This was one of the hottest qualis I have seen for a long time.
It is just amazing scrap when cars are performing around the same level.

Canada 2010. He proved he could control rapidly degrading tyres and was still quick enough to win! I had a knot in my back from tensing the whole way through the race. It was exciting! ;) That was an epic race. Watching him driving from the back and overtaking right left and centre. Truly amazing r...

Best hamilton Win And Why
Hey PF1 guys or hami fanatics which is your best win for Lewis. For me it has to be Nurburgring 2011.
The reason is simply stopping Webber from going on the outside and doing the same to Alonso in the next round, sealing the victiry for him.
Absolutely brilliant!!

If Red Bull dominate this season....
...What hope is there for other teams in the few years to come? It looks like in F1 if you have consistent driver and a very fast car, then your chances of winning the title is almost guaranteed. Knowing that Red Bull have both of these, and with the master designer stating he is not going any where...
