I am sure they do it to gherkin people off and don't even open it up for comments) but your article has made the world right again. Well done, great article and will read yours from no...

Re: Vintage F1 thread
I like the one Alan Jones said were Ferrari had shown interest in him and wanted to sign him up to race for them in 1978 (I think). He was told he had to come and meet Enzo Ferrari to discuss the drive but the whole matter needed to be kept completely secret and under wraps. Jones made a good effort...

Re: Vintage F1 thread
At Imola in 1982, Vileneuve, dissapointed by Pironi's behaviour, looks somewhere in the distance during the ceremony. The plate that was given him for the 2nd place had an interesting history. It's told by Jonathan Giacobazzi, a member of the Giacobazzi family (notable vine producers) that sponsore...

Re: Snapshot of a Typical Day on the Planet F1 Forum
I may have been the over 70, so apologies for boring you about a long forgotten race. I must have assumed that an F1 fan would be interested in the history of the sport. Guess the article wasn't written by an F1 fan with quite the same level of interest. Some just watch the season of the time, some...

Snapshot of a Typical Day on the Planet F1 Forum
This is inspired by an article in January 2014 Evo Magazine and felt it would be funny to do a similar one for our forum. Add your own. This is a snapshot of a typical day on the Planet F1 Forum Someone enquires innocently whether Vettel is the best driver ever. Three say yes, 8 say "It's just the c...

Just to be clear the penalty was for Massa crossing the hatched line which you can clearly see in the pics above rather than crossing the white line as Hamilton was doing!

As of now Massa is in good form so I understand the probability. Next year, Williams Mercedes can be a team to watch out for. Sad for the 1 race winner, seems he was struggling in a ever so struggling car. He may quit F1 altogether. What because they have signed Massa?? Hahahahahah okay whatever Wi...

Re: Is Vettel the most boring champion of all time?
It's not the fact that he is boring but that his car is so dominant and he drives it so well that he is able to do the work in the beginning and manage the gap for the rest of the race! They have found a good formula which will remain until the others catch up or the rules are changed.

I saw a quick flash of something curious and then it struck me that the national anthems on the podiums were filmed in a bit of a strange way (alot of close ups). A bit of research and this is what happened... http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=0e3_1377556857

I always get the impression that Lazenby asks a question, and then instead of listening to the answer, is listening to his earpiece for the next question so has a very vague reaction to the first question and blurts out the second. I also get the impression that Brundle does not always like his ques...

Wasn’t there some guy on the old forum who had come up with some top secret way of comparing drivers based on stats and taking out a whole load of factors. I think his name was POD or something. It would be interesting to see his stance on where Prost is vs Senna and indeed all other F1 drivers.

No it was the name of the oringnal thread. I know it was the original name. But we have no need for the original name anymore as the scope of this thread has changed. As it is now an official sticky the name should reflect that. I agree! The original title has no bearing any more on the topic, Upco...

Asking about which season had the most actual rainfall would be a tricky one though!! Right, careful analysis of the statistics leads me to say that 2008 and 2010 had the most actual rain fall in the season followed by 1975. When you take the average amount of rain over a season to number of races ...

Looking forward to Smedley working with Perez at Ferrari in the future! The best thing for Massa to do is to join another team (Sauber?) with a clean sheet and rediscover himself. Once he escapes the shackles of his past and has a clean sheet I am very confident he will find his form again!

I believe there is no such thing as "the same car", unfortunately. Any car, no matter how crap or great, will always favour certain drivers more than the other. Not the best of examples but Rubens spanked alot of people on the Top Gear track!
