Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

But the the regs don't differentiate between a corner taken at 300 km/h & a corner taken at 80 km/h do they? The type of corner should be of no consideration when investigating an incident. Pretty sure the regs don't allow for that. Sure, but precedents set by stewards over a number of years defini...

Re: Silly Season 2022

I know it's tight but wonder if we can squeeze Hulk into the equation. Even at Williams with a Bottas would be a good lineup. He has said if in'22 he's overseen, he'll quit hoping for a return to F1. As much as I hate to say it, all things being equal I think his days in F1 are gone. He's 33, been ...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

So in this incident (Leclerc/Verstappen in Austria 2019), had Leclerc simply turned into the corner and headed on a line that took him a car's width from the apex, Verstappen would have been entirely to blame for the inevitable resulting contact? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABKY6nbKIL4 I think ...

Re: Forum verdict on the Hamilton/Verstappen collision

So just asking the question here. Corner speed aside & keeping in mind that at one point Hamilton was virtually level with Verstappen, by how much does this incident differ from Verstappens pass on Leclerc in Austria in 2019? Verstappen was slightly behind going into the corner the same as Hamilton ...

If that's what you think, you don't understand the rules, or racing etiquette. Re: Silly Season 2022

Good points. If it's possible to extract him from his Merc contract would Russell take a Red Bull drive in 2022 or would he wait for Merc to see if they came back in 2023. On one hand the Merc drive is the better option. On the other there is no guarantee Merc won't pass on him again. RB are a 1 dr...

Re: Silly Season 2022

Just read on a social media post Mercedes wish to get Nyck De Vries alongside Latifi in Williams. I thought that's where Bottas was going to go. If Bottas stays put then where does Russell go? If Russell's leaving Williams there's definitely only 1 place he's heading. In this scenario the question ...

The irony being is that Mick has now driven this car almost as far as his old man ever did. Not true though. So 21 votes in from keen & knowledgeable F1 fans with 76% of those who voted saying they don't like the new sprint format yet Ross Brawn is saying the fan love it & it's a success.

I wonder if the fans he spoke to were also employees or guests of Liberty Media.

There’s a good reason why Hamilton has accumulated more penalty points than Verstappe...

I beg to differ. The biggest test of next year's aerodynamic "formula" will be at classic circuits, not an already untypical city street one. As the aim is to promote overtaking, the stiffest test must be at the track where it's hardest. Other tracks have effective DRS to reduce the problem. Sure t...
