Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
Terrible driving from both Norris and Piastri. Yet these are the two drivers fighting it out for the WDC. Not going to be a vintage year by any measure. Disagree with that strongly. I dont think either are properly elite tier drivers, but they drove well and giving a title fight. I think it comes d...

Terrible driving from both Norris and Piastri. Yet these are the two drivers fighting it out for the WDC. Not going to be a vintage year by any measure. Agree. If Max was in the car he'd have finished 1st, 2nd & 3rd in every race. Max would be so fast in that car he'd already have won next weeks Br...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Race Thread
So getting the delta on the first pit stop was pointless He had 4 lap fresher tyres, should have given him a 0.1 a lap at advantage least + he thought he was quicker, so 0.2 a lap quicker at least . He only closed the gap from 5.7 to 4.3 in around 25 laps. He did not do enough with the advantage. O...

Re: F1: The Movie
12 Monkeys is great in many ways. Definitely makes my top 10. As for Pitt, I also liked him in Inglorious Bastards. Watched the monkeys last year again, still a good watch. IB was also great, as was Fury. Sorry for the off topic Pitt wasn't too shabby in Fight Club either. Come to think of it, the ...

Re: F1: The Movie
One of the many reservations I had about seeing this movie was that Pitt was the star. Maybe it's just me, but aside from Snatch (which incidentally would sit comfortably in my top 5 favourite movies), his acting in almost every movie I've seen with him in it has left me cold. I've always found him...

Re: 2025 Austrian Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread
I think with Norris and Piastri so close together, there is a very plausible alternative explanation, namely that the car is very quick and perhaps quicker than the results suggest. I'm looking at the gap to Piastri rather than the position on the timing sheets. It's very unusual for an FP1 rookie ...

Re: F1: The Movie
Just got back from seeing it. Oh it's bad. Obviously the footage of the racing is OK, but we can see that for real every other weekend. The dialogue is cringe inducing and the acting awful. Pitt is so charismatic that is has the unfortunate effect of showing up the rest of the cast. Condon is the e...

Probably my favourite track on the calendar (the old Osterreichring remains my favourite F1 track ever). Never been a huge fan of most things Red Bull but i'm very grateful Mateschitz bought this beauty back, even as truncated as it may be now. I just wish he'd been allowed to restore it back to its...

Indeed Red Bull were disappointed that Tsunoda didn't make it into Q3 because the plan was for him to give Verstappen a tow, that could have made the difference with Verstappen getting pole position and then winning the race, the second driver is there just to assist Verstappen that's why Sainz was...

It's a movie, purely for entertainment. Much like 007, Mission impossible, Gladiator and so on. Not watching it for the historical/engineering/whatever accuracy. I have seen no indication that the McLaren was faster then the Mercedes and the Red Bull in Montreal. I never said that I thought McLaren was faster than Mercedes. I however think that it is only Verstappen that makes you see no indication that McLaren wasn't better than Red Bull. I think both Pias...

Re: Who is favourite for the championship?
After what happened on Sunday, I think McLaren should impose some rules for the two drivers. Maybe like who qualifies ahead gets priority or who's leading after the first round of pit stops will remain ahead etc. All this because they shouldn't forget about Verstappen's consistency. He's the only t...

I am a bit surprised that Russell and Antonelli have so many more votes than Verstappen. I believe that the Red Bull was clearly worse than Mercedes and also McLaren this weekend. Russell would be if he wasn't such a weasel. I am pretty sure that is a minority opinion here. Really? I think most people don't like Russell. That's a news flash. What's wrong with George? At what point do we consider Piastri to be a more complete driver than Norris? Personally I don't think we're there yet but we must be getting damn close. Not sure what I’m missing but why do some think Leclerc was in the wrong with Verstappen? Didn’t think there was anything in it. There are only 2-3 people who think that. These are the same people who think Verstappen can never do wrong so it really isn't surprising. One of them claims to be a fan ...
