Yep. The track was a mess, but great crowd. Too bad COTA managed to p**s most of them off.

Yep. Red Bull changed the wings on both cars during FP3 because of bump damage and then found cracks in the new ones between FP3 and Qualifying. They had to reinforce the new ones with more carbon fiber.
What a mess.

Re: COTA grinding bumps yet again leading up to USGP
Thanks for the clarification. Rotation would be interesting, we haven't really seen it in F1 outside of the guest venues for the European GP and the German alternation before we just sort of forgot Germany exists altogether. Personally I'd want COTA (under the aforementioned dream new management) a...

Ant & Paul are both aces imho. Very good. Really, to me, they easily bring the most good info to the broadcast of any of the regular crewmembers. Chandhok is terrible. Longwinded and frequently has to be corrected by Paul & Ant. Johnny is the village idiot. Damon is fine but seems to be getting past...

Re: COTA grinding bumps yet again leading up to USGP
It's sad to see the place seems to be falling into disrepair, it's one of the best venues on the calendar. It deserves to be the home of the USGP, much more so than some soulless car park in Miami. COTA would deserve the USGP if they would properly reinvest in repairing and maintaining the drainage...

Get ready to see lots of spots like this all over COTA next weekend for F1. Here they're grinding the nasty bump entering Turn 14. And there are plenty more throughout the circuit. Photo courtesy of my man at the track.

It'd be a travesty to lose COTA. It's a brilliant track & deserves to be on the calendar for many years to come. then F1 will probably keep cashing in, at least until they have enough other US venues to race at ( Vegas is happening . Indy? Maybe). 8O Las Vegas has a race? When did that become a thi...

Also the Gasly one was a joke, and going around Gasly like that looked a bit amateurish. It didn't look like Gasly had a lot of room to avoid Alonso. Alonso looked like he could have avoided Mick if he wanted to. Look at Norris's onboard view. Gasly missed it big time. He had room on his left and plenty of time & room to make the turn & not collect Alonso, who already had his car turne...

I'm a huge Fernando fan, but yeah, it was a rare mistake from him that deserved a penalty. Alonso also acknowledge the penalty & said it was deserved, and he apologized to Mick. Such stupid irresponsibility with what should be a long-term, world-class venue. Yep. It's sad, and it's a real shame. Re: COTA grinding bumps yet again leading up to USGP
Oh, and the bumps and cracks are only part of the problem. After the latest round of bump grinding, COTA will have large areas that have just been ground and will have a different texture and roughness compared to other areas. On top of that, the two recent stints of resurfacing have left COTA with ...

Are the problems with overtaking really an issue with current aero rules or the tracks the races are happening on? It may be to allow cars to follow and stay close reducing the need for DRS That's exactly right. F1's "overtaking problem" is really a "following problem". Yes, some tracks are always ...
