Re: 2013 Canadian GP Race Theead!
I predict a lights to flag victory for Vettel who stays out in front by himself for the whole race. Meanwhile Alonso will move to second after the Mercedes fade with Webber having a quiet race in 3rd. Hamilton will hold out for 4th whilst Sutil has a good run to claim 5th. Raikkonen will beat Rosber...

Re: F1 should revert back to old point scoring system
It really doesn't matter that the records are no meaningless in terms of points. They would be messed up anyway since there is far more races and far better reliability compared to the past so new drivers would always move higher up the records especially as many start from a younger age now. Not on...

Maldonado should have a penalty for not taking Vettel out and making the WDC more interesting
But really, no penalty since he did nothing wrong.

Another race bashing thread
In all seriousness it was a little boring, the 1 stopping didn't help, but I also think this track is really hard to overtake on and spreads the cars out too much.
There is still worse tracks out there like Abu Dhabi and Bahrain though.

The circuit is quite unique with 1 sector being low downforce and the rest of the lap requiring high downforce. It does make for some good racing, it's just that at this point in the season the teams seem to be more spread out as some develop more than others. I would much rather see an end to Bahra...

Sauber 1-2 for sure
In reality I think there will be some carnage on the first lap taking out some of the 'out of place' drivers.
So my prediction is a Button, Webber, Vettel podium

Im sure that after the BMW saga, Peter Sauber said he would never sell his team to a manufacturer ever again.
If VW did come into the sport I hope they would buy one of the newer teams/STR or simply join as a completely new team themselves.

Well since it has been used at the past two Australian GPs to prevent HRT running a car that wasn't ready, I would say it is used.
It's not there to punish drivers for having a bad day, it's there to prevent unprepared teams from racing.
That is the point.

I was looking at season results today and noticed no team had yet got a 1-2 at any race this year. The closest was a McLaren 1-3 at the first race.
So my question is, who will score the first 1-2 of the season? If at all.

Do you think there is top 8 teams now, whilst STR are falling back and Caterham are slowly improving?
Also I think even without contact Ricciardo would have finished infront of Petrov so I guess Caterham would still be looking for that point.

It did require a SC to help improve the race however, Vettel retiring created a twist. So it was still a race to remember and therefore I give it an 8. Hopefully the other teams catch up with RBR so we don't have more run-away victories which was the case today until Vettel got unlucky.

I think most of the excitement will come from the midfield whilst at the front it is pretty straight forward with position changes only coming during pitstops.

How come Rubens is so far off the pace. First time at the track, only his second/third time ever on an oval. The car is quite different compared to the one used on road courses. It's no real surprise really, he will be great at road courses this year but ovals will take time to learn and understand.

I'm so happy for Maldonado, he got a lot of stick from people especially Hulkenberg fans for obvious reasons. But he showed how good he was in GP2 and after a full season in F1 he has really found his form. I just hope he keeps his cool and keeps it on the track!

I think he is doing as well as he did at Williams. People only seem to remember his pole at Brazil but throughout the season he was average. I think it was pretty obvious that Vettel was trying to get a tow to stop Webber from gaining on him as he was desperate to stop Webber passing. BTCC is simply a fun day out and great for TV with guaranteed action. In all seriousness I still think that the car with the best downforce will probably be the car to drive however a lot is also about the driver and their skill in wet conditions as well. Possibly a bit of luck thrown in as well.
