Re: Reverse Grid Sprint Races back on the table?

Let's address the elephant in the room: the reason why FIA and Liberty are pushing so hard for reverse grid races is because of Mercedes domination. There's a lot of rule changes planned for 2022, but that still leaves 2021. As it stands right now, Mercedes have a huge advantage locked in for next ...

Re: New 2020 calendar

Yeah, the US GP is months away. Protests are unlikely to continue at this level for that long.

And yeah, F1 is notorious for remaining politically impartial. If they make a stance on racing in America, they'll be left open to question why they race in China, Russia, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi

Re: New 2020 calendar

Possibility that one of the Austria and one of the Silverstone races will replace qualifying with a reverse grid sprint race on Saturday to set the grid for Sunday’s race. Cars will be reverse championship order. Teams were supportive but a final vote will take place this week. https://the-race.com...

Re: Now TV coverage in UK for 2020

I might just get a week pass for Aus, its the only weekend i really need Sky for.

Once the season is underway I'll probably just wait for Channel 4.

Might consider the pass next year, the rule changes might make the season a bit more unpredictable.

Channel 4 have agreed a deal to cover extended highlights for 2020, race coverage allowance has been increased from 45 to 60 mins. They'll also be allowed to air the highlights 2 and a half hours after the race rather than 3 hours as in 2019... Slightly better than 2019, and making it easier to go ...

I started following F1 to the point where I would watch F1 every race and every practice session if i could from 2014 onwards....

But, they track is on existing roads.

I mean I guess they could move the roads/have temporary roads?

What I'd most like F1 to do is move the race start time back to 13:00/14:00... Was visually more spectacular in the sun, its looked a dull with the 17:00 local time start.

Yeah, McLaren were working overtime towards the end of 2017 to apportion blame Honda for their poor performance in recent years - but the signs were there in their last 2 seasons with Merc. I took the sky offer last year, but still found myself favouring Channel4, even sometimes just waiting for highlights. I doubt Sky will do a NowTV offer this year, there's little reason for them to. Which is a shame as I'm not prepared to pay £35 a month for NowTV Sport or however much actual sky is.
