Re: ( split thread) Prince Phillip

I have no interest in the Royal family . I didn't feel any more sadness for Prince Phillip's death than I do when I read about other deaths in the press, be they celebrities or people living in my part of the world. I would not kick up a fuss if the Royal family were dispanded. That said, we can no...

Re: Prince Phillip

F1 is hugely based in the UK in terms of teams and manufacturers. It is also reliant on Sky for broadcasting. Both are in the UK. Are people seriously objecting to a disruption purely to watch care drive round in circles? One is a sport the other is national institution, I struggle to think of anot...

Re: 2021 Emilia Romagna (Imola) Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

You don't have to explain that. I get why the sessions have been moved, what I don't really get is the desire to watch a strangers funeral on TV. To me a funeral is an event you'd attend to pay your respects to a lost love one and show support for their family. I'm not sure, in the 21st Century, why...

Re: 2021 Emilia Romagna (Imola) Grand Prix Free Practice & Qualifying Thread

Many of the teams are British based and I'm sure that there are a lot of British travelling crew - I'd assume that several of those would like to pay their respects. Also at the end of the day what's the big deal if you don't want to watch the funeral then don't watch it , who cares if qualifying i...

Re: How to make 2021 even better.

I have to agree with wire2004. I'd be wary of messing with technical regs at all at this stage, with 2 such close teams at the top and another great midfield year on the cards. All I can really think of is bringing VSC rules in line with F2 to avoid pit stops being made under them, just to reduce l...

Re: Driver(s) of the Day - 2021 Bahrain Grand Prix

Went with Perez, Norris and Tsunoda in the end but there were so many excellent candidates. The top two obviously put on a great show, I couldn't choose between them. Great racing for the win, right to the end. Both Ferrari drivers gave a good account of themselves and Alonso was right up in amongst...

Another year, another Hamilton win, I wasn't sure when it might come this year with the speed of the Red Bull, totally unexpected.
Stretching it a bit I think. Red Bull were marginally the favourites but it was always going to be a very close fight.

I often read that attempts to improve passing in F1 by reducing the amount of aero, reduced tyre grip and longer brakes will make the sport significantly slower and therefore not so good, but believe me, F2 is significantly slower than F1 but my goodness it's exciting to watch, F1 regulations could...

WTF is the logic there with putting out a VSC and then a SC? The implication being that under a VSC in dry conditions, drivers are still going to go flying off the track, out of control and hit the tractor?! I don’t get it.

Looked to me more like Dan tried to go right from one side of the track to the other, without looking at who he was driving into.

Yes in summary we have a title fight, when criticising Bottas and qualifying perhaps doesn't matter that much well just tell Perez that, he couldn't get the fastest car through to Q3 on medium tyres, also it looks like Ferrari are much improved. well, in q2, perez was about the same distance from v...

Decent recovery from my man Jüri to claim reverse grid pole. Must have been pushing track limits a bit though to get a black and white flag. I do think it’s better having a sprint race which stretches the tyre wear limits. Without it I think we’d just have cars pounding round at full speed in format...
