Re: Less Competitive RB Could Mean Equal Footing for Riccard

This is OT but I wish people would stop stating 'Webber preferred the old wing' as fact. There's never been any named, on-the-record source for that, it's a rumour a single newspaper ran from an unnamed engineer. Far too much is put in it IMO, and it changes very little about how Red Bull went about...

Re: Drivers losing out for 2014

To be honest, in terms of who has gone it's not half as bad as I thought it might be at some points. Webber has left on his own accord, Van der Garde added nothing and I kept forgetting that Pic was actually there half the time. I find it hard to count Kovalainen as a 2014 driver given the nature of...

Re: Horner: Rivals encouraged booing

Out of all the things Alonso can and has been rightly criticised for, I'm not sure throwing a hat is really up there. After all, the fans were already booing - if anything him throwing the hat changed a few of those to cheers. To be honest I think Horner accusing him comes across as more of a silly ...

Re: Massa to Williams confirmed- Pastor out

In all honesty I think part of the perceived upswing in Massa's form is down to Alonso not really being that arsed once he realised that there was no chance of him winning the title. He also finished last year on a supposed high and was nowhere again come the start of the year. For his sake I'm glad...

Re: Still possible Kimi could walk from Lotus before end 201

The more I think about it, the more I think both sides are as bad as each other. Lotus are clearly full of hot air and pretty much all of Boullier's public statements are cringeworthy. That includes the apology for Permane after last week, which I think did more harm than good to be honest. However,...

Re: Will Mark Webber Turn Up In Abu Dahbi.

You couldn't blame him for being fed up but he doesn't seem like the type to throw the towel in early. Despite his poor luck he could still plausibly overtake Hamilton and even (at a stretch) Raikkonen in the WDC, providing it actually finishes he's got the car to do it and the team might be a tad m...

I think money and/or nationality has played a role here and Kvyat could end up like Alguersuari. But he's very good - better than Sirotkin I believe, and he did deserve a shot in the next few years, even if it is probably too soon. On current form, probably Button - although I don't think Webber has been half as bad as some like to make out this year, his luck has been atrocious and I don't think there are many drivers who'd be significantly closer to Vettel on pace in his current form. I don't think Vettel cares about PR. I'm not sure the team do either. They have made so many public decisions to support Vettel over Webber whilst attempting to deny it. Then they don't punish Vettel when he ignores fairly soft team orders. Vettel also whinges on the team radio when the team don't ...

I meant youth as in that Red Bull Racing has only competed since 2005 and doesn't have the 'heritage' fanbase that some other teams do. Milton Keynes may have existed before in various guises but I doubt any of those were around long enough to get such a fanbase either. I'm sure there's one or two w...

Genuine question: is Jenson THAT popular in Japan? I've seen it claimed in the British press that he is because of his girlfriend and the Honda links. It seems to me that the majority of Red Bull fans are Vettel's fans, so the answer would be probably not in either case. In demand, probably. In demand as a lead driver? Not the same thing and in all honesty, I very much doubt it. On exactly Seb's strategy? Maybe not. But on a more conventional two-stopper it was certainly possible to jump Grosjean on a more conventional two-stopper - which was a strategy that was available to them, no matter what Horner says. His pace was very good in the second stint. That in itself has ris...

Because the times are set months or years apart with completely different track conditions, there's no guarantee the car is set up the same each time (tyre pressures etc.) and they aren't going to ballast the car so the weight will depend on the driver.

In other words, it's just a bit of fun.
