Re: 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix Race Thread

I don't know if I'm remembering wrong, but what is the most common penalty for speeding in the pit lane? Does it differ depending on by how much you speed? Unless I'm remembering wrong, I'm sure it isn't often a 10 second stop go that Giovinazzi received?

Re: PF1 Forum teammate wars vote: Hungary 2021

i think my post was clear enough. I put no blame on Norris at all for turn 1, but the way he angled his car towards Bottas well before this was pointless given the speed advantage he had. As I said, If Bottas didn't lift, it could well have been a huge incident, which Norris would have been to blame...

Re: Rank the Drivers Midseason Performance

The top two is a toss up between Norris and Verstappen. But I think when you look at their team mates and how Norris is putting Daniel in the shade he's got to get the nod. If you had two Daniels in that car you'd think it was comfortably behind the Ferrari and I can't really think of a session whe...

Re: George Russell testing next years tyres/wheels for Mercedes

A lot of armchair pundits on the interwebs are taking this as evidence that Valtteri won't be back after the summer break.... ...and after the massive crashfest that he caused on lap one. I am guessing that Merc are going to use the test to get George more comfortably fitted in the car for the 2022...

Easy votes with little need for an explanation: Hamilton over Bottas Verstappen over Perez Vettel over Stroll Ocon over Alonso Gasly over Tsunoda Raikkonen over Giovinazzi Latifi over Russell Harder votes (or lack of them) Leclerc over Sainz - I thought Sainz looked really good in the race, but Lecl...

I thought Hamilton's drive was outstanding. One other GOAT away from claiming a super famous victory today. Great craft from himself, fantastic craft from Alonso in defence for an all-time duel. Alonso and Hamilton then. Ocon third. Sainz fourth for his race read. Vettel fifth. Next. May I ask, wou...

If any of them already had 2 reprimands, it would be hilarious if a t-shirt earned them a grid drop....

Lets just wait and see if the team certainly told him. Giovinazzi said that he was coming in for a gamble, and the team said nothing. I don't know if it was Ocon or the team who said / asked.

Well, what is your view on Russell just just being told to give the positions back after he was cheeky in the pit lane. He actually implied that the stewards could well have been far more harsh. Seems odd that Giovinazzi gets a 10 second stop go for speeding in the pit lane, but Russell gets nothing...

This was a first lap incident, but what are anyone else's thoughts on Norris's change of direction when he and perez were passing Bottas at the start? Not sure. Bottas apparently had a his drink system fail last weekend, so could hamilton's have done the same?

I'm so pleased for Ocon, but I have to say that I think Vettel deserved that win. He did an incredible outlap and had a pit stop that clearly cost him that bit of time. I also thought Ocon's late defence when vettel got close with the back markers was a bit too close to the limit. Other than that, g...

Bit of an unrelated note, but just what is the point of the teams wearing masks any more? All wearing them under their chin and all screaming and shouting face to face. The celebration is understandable, but masks are beyond pointless at the moment.

5 grid place is an extremely weak penalty. Also what about Stroll? I reminded you of this. Hulkenberg in Spa one year? I don't think he got much of a penalty at all. Ricciardo can't even pass a williams, and Russell isn't catching latifi. It basically is implying that Latifi's pace better than Ricciardo given how much better the Mclaren is, which is quite a shock if I'm honest. Ricciardo took a big hit in turn 1. Probably badly damaged. Sorry, forgot about that.
