Re: Its Official: Sebastian Vettel to Aston Martin in 2021 (merged)

Perez had Telmex backing from the early days of his career, when he first started at Sauber who becomes their main sponsor ...you guessed it Telmex. so you could call them his rich Daddy. Stroll has won more Championships he has competed in than Perez, so why does Perez deserve to be in F1 more tha...

Re: Could next year be Vettel's final nail in the coffin?

Seems to be a bunch of folks wondering if Team Red is giving Seb the same kind of car they are providing to Charles. When a driver is on his way out of a team, certain things begin to happen. He is barred from technical briefings, so that he may not carry any new "secrets" to any other team. Thus, ...

Re: Reverse Grid Sprint Races back on the table?

Perhaps when the football team at the top of the Premier League plays the team at the bottom, the bottom team start the match a few goals ahead. In all fairness, what we have now is a system where the top team would start a few goals ahead. Qualifying is probably too important in the current formul...

PM - 2nd Practice Saturday AM - Qualifying PM - Reverse grid race with results counting toward a seperate and less prestigious reverse grid championship S...

Had Williams known the team would only score one more win for the next 16 years and then side to the back of the grid maybe he would have accepted BMW's offer and maybe BMW would have been more reluctant to pull out if they were contractually obliged or closer to the WDC/WCC Sad to think the winnin...

I, however, could not be further from being in agreement. What you're suggesting is a regressive retro championship, not anything to do with Formula 1. There is no performance advantage to using a clutch and an H-pattern shifter; exactly the opposite. It's for enthusiasts who love the feel, not for...

I became a fan of F1 via Champcars. I was a huge Champcar fan in the mid-90's, particularly Target/Chip Ganassi Racing. I don't have an in-principle objection to reverse grids, but I don't think they belong in Formula 1. To me, a Grand Prix should be a single, highly significant motor race -- one per country, and certainly no more than one per weekend. I think we already have too many Grands Prix. Yeah reverse grids are a no for me. In all of the series I’ve watched that toyed with reverse grids, one theme keeps coming up, which is cost. Reverse grids tend to result in more crashes, which means more money spent on parts and repairs. The sport can’t talk about cost savings, while on the other ...
