Re: When can Hamilton return to McLaren?
I wouldn't be surprised to see Merc join the upper echelons of the sport in a few years No doubt, but how many actual years is a "few" years? The way F1 is competitive now, it could take Merc longer than Hamilton's F1 lifespan to match McLaren, Ferrari & RBR. And don't forget that those teams will ...

Re: McLaren's nightmare season in a nutshell
I don't see how Martin Whitmarsh gets all the blame for the poor strategy and reliability. It's not his fault the gearboxes fail or when the mechanics can't put enough fuel in the car. Hamilton leaving is probably Whitmarsh's fault though. He is the boss he is responsible. IF one of my apprentices ...

Re: McLaren's nightmare season in a nutshell
In a word disastrous, considering the general pace of the car. I would be hesitant however to lay all the blame at MW's door as the failures appear to me to be pretty much team wide, with the possible exception of the drivers. MW may get the blame for Hamilton's departure, but who's to say he would...

Re: Pirelli to be more agressive in 2013
Personally I think that widening the operating window is a great idea. I hate the fact that they favour the driving style of some drivers. Some are used to driving sedately, and some aren't. I feel as though having to be easy on the tyres is an advantage to some drivers, and to disadvantage drivers...

Re: Time to end the myth of drivers ability to develop cars?
It's just the way of the world, why should drivers be able to "develop" a car, when nowadys you need the right software to be able to even repair a lawn mower. What should the drivers develop there at F1? the software the aero dynamic? Even the wheels are so complicated nowadays that the manufacture...

Mercedes wanted a driver to move their brand forward, they now have it, they thought Schumie would do it but his inability with the simulator has slowed down development, that is why there is a new 60 mil simulator being built and that is why I wouldn't be surprised to see Merc join the upper echel...

Re: Whitmarsh: Hamilton 'regrets' move to Mercedes
Whitmarsh has a lot of explaining to do to Mclaren and their sponsors, he's simply planting acorns in the hope a big old 100 year oak tree will grow before that meeting and it will be deemed that greed and a fit of pique was responsible for them losing their homegrown F1 ace to a competitor . I think he will regret it far more than Lewis will. Somehow I doubt it.
