Re: Why is F1 unpopular in the US?
The US doesn't do international sports because they can lose at them. America can only tolerate Americans winning so they just play their own sport so they can win every time. Nice attempt at damage control.... Sorry, formula1fan, I don't buy it. Your first post shown above was insulting and ignora...

Re: Why haven't Pirelli been renewed for 2014?
I think they're going to have to renew the contract. Otherwise there's not gonna be wheels for next year. I don't think another supplier could step in this fast. Why wouldn't there be any wheels? Lol :uhoh: I meant that surely only Pirelli has the capability to have next year's tyres ready. Do you ...

Re: Toto Wolff comments on Merc Strategy
But think of it this way, if they want success and dont need the money, wouldnt you just focus on developing this car AND go for the success while putting the same money and effort you would otherwise in to new car? if money is not an issue then going for both should be doable. They would just focu...

Championship point means more money as well though. Just sayin. Mercedes don't need the money right now. They have what is probably the biggest budget in the sport at the moment. Re: Why is F1 unpopular in the US?
I don't think it is necessarily unpopular. But when you have sports that play/race every single week that are in the country, I think it's easier to focus. And to be honest, of ALL major sports that I know much about, f1 is the least fan friendly by a massive margin. Grand am racing is the most. I c...

Re: So ten races in how do you rate Ham Move to Merc?
In hindsight we all look like geniuses. I believed that 2013 would be dismal, with 2014 as the year when Mercedes could deliver a competitive car. But Mercedes have appeared to come to grips with tire degradation for what was a quick car (cough, cough, tire test ) and 2013 has been a pleasant surpr...

Re: Is F1 becoming more popular in the US because of NBC?
Yeah, NBC's totally better than Speed, and super better than Fox, but, I've not been watching the races that much, because, frankly, the trio of Varsha/Matchett/Hobbs had this electricity which made them not only the best team covering F1 or racing, but the best sports broadcasting team of all! Re: why is there a dirty side at race start???
I never understand why drivers don't drive down the 'dirty' side more in free practice. It'll distort some of their trajectory ( I'm sure they can compensate) but it'll give less of a disadvantage starting on that side. After all, there's a 50/50 chance that they will. Why take the chance of helpin...

Well I'm not sure how it works in other Motorsport but in F1 the release line for the drivers is a line on the track, not when the safety car enters the pits or exits the track, obviously the first driver will be on the throttle a full car length before the 2nd place car, also the restart line in F...

Behind the leader in restarts.
Why are Formula 1 drivers the worst at restarts? I've never seen any other kind of racing where a driver, especially in 2nd place, lets the leader check out before they even get to the flag. The NBC commentators here in the US, most notably David Hobbs, has absolutely ripped drivers in the recent se...

I agree with the above. I haven't seen anyone drive around missing a wheel in a long time. If it happen exiting the pits they stop in the lane or just outside put exit and turn the car off. If it happen on track they do the same. Pull over.

Why do the producers love Rob Smedley so much. He's a driver engineer for a driver who hasn't done anything in years. Yet they show Rob at least once a race weekend but we never see engineers for other drivers. Why is this?
