Re: 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Today's race was the most boring of the entire season. If it's true that Mercedes "turned-down" the performance of their cars due to MGU fatigue, then they surrendered the race to Red Bull for no reason. So what if one (or both) Mercedes break down. Is showing their personality through their driving not enough? There aren't many sports where the competitors keep changing their kits throughout the season.

Re: 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Race Thread
Abu Dhabi: A reliable anticlimax to the season. - Bottas would have still been 2nd with a 3rd place finish, so I don't understand why they were so conservative in the strategy Maybe they just wanted it all over too. I think they probably thought the only way they could lose 2nd in the WDC was a fail...

I have to wonder about the fire marshal hosing down the pavement before turning the hose on Grosjean's car. It occurs to me that Romain was on the same side of the barrier that the fire marshal was on. He may not have wanted to turn the force of the hose on Romain as he was getting out of the cockp...

The question of Armco is interesting one. Without the Halo he's dead irrespective, and the fire/destruction was heightened by it. Armco is terrible from that point of view. However ultimately the devastation and penetration caused to the barrier my also have been what ultimately saved him from being...

Re: So, do people want "novelty" races now ?
Without high downforce and grip F1 isn't really F1. It should be fairly close to the optimum engineering solution for going fast around a circuit as it is meant to be the fastest racing formula. If you want low grip and slower cars there are plenty of other series to go for. Changes to keep things i...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/formula1/50296806/page/8 I've heard a reason for why Albon is struggling - and this has come from a very good source. It's to do with car behaviour and what the two drivers want. Verstappen likes a pointy car, in the same ay Michael Schumacher used to like a pointy ...

It occurs to me that George Russell could actually be a really good fit.
He's been very fast and consistent (especially in qualifying making Q2 not a shock any more) in a Williams that while much improved has often been the slowest car on the grid.

I thought that not having Hamilton at the front would spice up the race. Turns out it's just as boring as before. I actually turned off my TV with 15 laps to spare and took a nap. Strong race from Raikkonen. Supposedly there was damage after the (first

To be fair Bottas did improve, just by not quite enough. It's fairly frequently the case that he is equal or faster than Hamilton in the first two sectors and then loses out in the last, and that's not just here.

Right so I'm seeing a lot of talk about how this is genius, and seems to be legal.
