Re: 2020 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread

Sainz moaning about turn two.... well clearly you're not supposed to drive through the bollards at full speed are you? The whole point of the chicane is to slow you down, but no it has to be changed because you're an idiot! I agree about not moaning, but it did seem mad to me that Verstappen especi...

Re: 2020 Russian Grand Prix Race Thread

I thought that not having Hamilton at the front would spice up the race. Turns out it's just as boring as before. I actually turned off my TV with 15 laps to spare and took a nap. Formula 1 is fundamentally broken. The resources and performance difference between the cars is too great. Formula 1 is...

My overall driver of the day didn't make the top 3 on the coverage. Perez's pace and longevity on that first soft stint was huge.

Strong race from Raikkonen. Supposedly there was damage after the (first :) ) first lap incident. His pace for the final stint in order to only lose one place from the 5 second penalty was really good.

Amazing how fine the margins are: Bottas 0.069 off pole and Pérez 0.025 off lap of the day/3rd. And of course totally knocking Hamilton/Sainz from the headlines.

To be fair Bottas did improve, just by not quite enough. It's fairly frequently the case that he is equal or faster than Hamilton in the first two sectors and then loses out in the last, and that's not just here.

Ever since the early days of Mercedes' return to F1 when they have had issues it's often been overheating the rear tyres. I feel like it's never really gone away. Right so I'm seeing a lot of talk about how this is genius, and seems to be legal.
