Re: Official 2016 pecking order prediction!
People seem to have a lot more faith in Haas than I do! To think they're going to finish ahead of Red Bull, Renault or McLaren seems mad to me. Mercedes>Ferrari>Williams>Red Bull>McLaren>Toro Rosso>Renault>Force India>Sauber>Manor>Haas (the final two places to be decided on the odd 10th or 11th plac...

Is there a Williamson memorial at Zandvoort
I'm planning a trip to Zandvoort in the next couple of weeks - does anyone know if there's anything to commemorate Roger Williamson at the spot where he died? Obviously it's not part of the current track and the whole area has been redeveloped but I thought there might be something there despite it ...

Re: Which one time champ should have won more?
He was good enough for Schumacher to resort to crashing into him to stop him beating him. The thing is that Michael was a victim of the FIA who imposed a punishment far more ridiculous than Belgium '08 or any subsequent controversy. Schumi would have had the title sealed well before Adelaide if his...

Re: Which one time champ should have won more?
Agree with Mansell - unlucky not to win his first in 86, could have won another but for reliability & decisions not going in his favour cost him more.
Rindt would have won again if he'd had the chance.
Skullduggery cost Hill one title, and should have won in 95 with the best car in the field.

Re: Formula 1 return to the Nordschleife
They can't make F1 viable at the Nurburgring Grand Prix course as it is where everything they need is in place, so they've no chance of justifying the hundreds of millions of pounds needed to upgrade the facilities, safety, run off areas, track width/surface of a 14 mile long track, not to mention t...

The British fans cheered when Schumacher crashed and broke his leg, it was not seen as something 'negative' although cheering for someone breaking his leg is pretty low. I guess it depends who it is, and where you are from This is completely ridiculous and definately not true. I'm not sure which bi...

I'd drive any of them, absolutely anywhere. I reckon I could drive Perry McCarthy's Andrea Moda around a Hermann Tilke designed multi-storey car park and I'd more than likely be blown away by it.

Also, nobody is killing F1. It's just evolving as it always has. You might not think it's heading in the right direction but that's not to say that in two or three years the direction won't have changed. And does anyone even care whether cars are doing top speeds of 200mph or 220mph, or whether they...

Re: Are the FIA destroying F1? (slowing them down too much)
I believe one day there will be a cross over point where moto gp bikes will be quicker than F1 cars around the same track from the same season. Absolutely no way in the world. This just isn't going to happen. I can see the point about getting rid of sand traps meaning that drivers can take more lib...

It's just the noise for me. It's horrific. I've only seen a demo with a single car too - if there are 20 or so of them pounding past you it's going to be unbearable to listen to. Like watching F1 on the Beeb when Jonathan Legard was commentating.

Mansell was well on course for a first title when his tyre exploded, and that year was up one of the strongest field of top-line racers the sport has seen. Re: N.piquet vs N.mansell
Mansell suffered from bad luck & a couple of really costly mistakes but was the better racer (and probably faster over a lap) but Piquet was more calculating and was better at thinking about the bigger picture - ie closing out a championship. I think it was James Allen who said if you and Nigel Mans...

Unfortunately a lot of people seem to have formed their opinions on Senna based on what's in the film. I remember at the time you either loved or hated him, which a lot of people did. His attitude was that if someone tried to overtake, he was willing to crash before allowing you by so it was up to y...
