Re: Senna, Prost, and a distinct lack of rumors
But it does seem that your recollection of the events is a bit off; all of what you said makes sense, except that you have made the incorrect assumption that this happened AFTER qualifying. No, the discussion happened BEFORE qualifying so nobody was doing this to benefit Senna - it was to benefit t...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread
Not wanting to be "that guy" (but going to sound like him anyway... 😂) but isn't this the 'F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread'? There's probably a more appropriate thread in the forum to have a discussion about how much drivers weighed several decades ago. Sorry. I'll shut up again. And in that sp...

Re: Senna, Prost, and a distinct lack of rumors
Not for a lack of trying ; he contacted the stewards to get Senna disqualified, but the stewards told him they didn't have grounds to do so after Prost had cynically tried to take Senna out at Suzuka the previous year. Not the right thread for this, but you're also clearly forgetting how the reques...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
Apparently Marko was in the meeting where it was decided Horner was going to be sacked and it happened before Silverstone and he was informed on Monday and Tuesday was his farewell speech, his last day in the office. To me it seems the Austrian side did not like Horner, it was a political decision ...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread
perez to cadillac is all over the internet. Perez and Mick Schumacher would make an interesting team. Perez and Bottas I am not fond of; I would prefer to see Bottas at Alpine, teaming up with Gasly. I agree with this. I'd prefer to see Mick back, give him another chance, rather than two older driv...

Re: Senna, Prost, and a distinct lack of rumors
That's quite an accusation you write there. What gave you the idea that Prost and Balestre were friends? Secondly, I believe the FIA only introduced combined driver+car weight in 2019, some 11 years after Balestre died, and some 27 years after he left office. Looking forward to an enlightening answ...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
How is any of this indication or even evidence that the Red Bull is less instable/unpredictable than the Ferrari? Probably more relevant than your evidence that RB is not unstable because of random opinions on Verstappen ;) Ah, we are entering the personal attack area. ;) Watch the onboards and gen...

Re: Senna, Prost, and a distinct lack of rumors
Interesting, do tell us about the FIA rules that were changed after Prost's retirement. And about how Prost supposedly cheated his way to a 4th world title. If necessary, start a new thread, because I am really interested to learn about all the things that I never understood. You wouldn't happen to...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
The problem with assessing anything about Verstappen at Red Bull is that there's pretty obviously something weird going on at that team with the second seat. Now, I'm no fan of Verstappen, and I think that's pretty obvious. He is a very talented driver. As a complete package, he's probably the best...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
As Badger rightfully emphasizes stability/predictability is not the only factor determining "fast". I mentioned other factors with respect to Perez and Tsunoda - and again these are not the only factors, of course. How fast an individual driver can drive a specific race car is a multi-factor thing....

Re: Senna, Prost, and a distinct lack of rumors
And yet, that was what Schumacher did on his very first F1 race. So who knows, perhaps Franco is also on his way to 6 driver titles... And if he is to be replaced, I feel Jack Doohan should be given a decent second chance. Even an overrated driver like Prost "won" 3 (thanks to the unfair FIA rules ...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
I understand that and why you Verstappen fans think so. Of course, I looked at both cars to derive a judgement. Tsunoda's and Perez' cars looked comparatively predictable/stable (compared to the Ferrari's). Perez just never managed to adapt to the style of Verstappen and Leclerc to drive the corner...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner

Perhaps the Ferrari and Mercedes would look much more stable in his hands? I understand that and why you Verstappen fans think so. Of course...

Re: F1 Gossip/Rumour/Inside news Thread
Looks like Max to Merc is done deal now ? It was never a 'done deal', Wolff is just bunging outlets cash to create a narrative. Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
I have intensively studied onboards from qualifyings and races - and I think that is a myth. The Red Bull looks quite stable whereas especially the Ferrari looks rather unpredictable and unstable. That was already the case last seasons and it is very much so this year. Don't agree on the Red Bull l...

Re: Red Bull Racing sack Christian Horner
I would be very surprised if it isn't directly linked to Max's future. Either Max's team have said he's off to Merc if Horner remains in charge, or maybe they've already decided to go there and losing him is the final straw and what has resulted in Horner getting canned. I agree it has taken someth...

I wonder if it is the case from last year, Max possibly going away, or RB's bad performance of recent months . It may be a combination of everything I guess. I have to say it would be pure guesswork on my part, don't have nearly enough insight into the inner working of the teams to know which team principal is doing a good job as it's such a team effort to get good results in F1. If this rumour is true, his days are really numbered because burning of the clutch by a F1 driver doesn't shed a good light on the driver's skills & doesn't help justify his place on the F1 grid. Lawson now has more points than Yuki I realised. I did not expect that In April that would have been surprising, but given what we've seen since then I don't think it's very shocking. As said in the race thread, it shows how bad Tsunodas weekend was, when his team mates race was over after 20 seconds.... and he is going to lose this vote convincingly. Finishing last of the running cars isn't great. Verstappen would have lapped him at least once had he not been taken out. It's not...
