they really do need to after today, also did anyone else love the sound of the engine dying at the end, un the UK MB was talkig over it but you had bursts of sound followed by one final bang and the rear wheels lockup,

Re: The Official McLaren Thread!
The thing that bugs me is last year Renault were in a similar mess but it was known that they were late developing the engine and had let go a lot of engine staff after the last freeze, they were massively under resourced and late, that not good but it explained the situation , whats Honda's excuse?...

Re: DIY contract negotiations - Lewis wants a crack
the media always says its money when a contract negotiation seems to go on and on, greedy sports men and women demanding more and cash, Lewis has more money than he every needs and he knows that, he will still want to be paid based on his status as 2x WDC and get an amount that reflect that but the ...

Re: Gary Hartstein - former F1 Doctor
Ok, I've read Gary Hartstein's open letter and what I got from it is this. Some guy I've never heard of, whom Dr Hartstein claims sacked him from his FIA job via email, takes it upon himself to visit the Dean of the University Hospital at Liege where Gary works full time - in order to present a leg...

Re: Gary Hartstein - former F1 Doctor
I like Gary but I get the impression he is quite happy to step on toes and make a huge amount of noise to get his way. Is that wrong after all it's the drivers he is trying to help but it seems the FIA are very scared of whistle blowers and people who openly talk to he media. After all I'd be guessi...

Re: Horner: Nothing will change in 2015
i think a lot of this is just headline grabbing by Horner, Renault have already stated they won't be able to get full power from the PU until mid 2015 season, what help would un freezing the reg really give them now anyway, I'm guessing they want to split the turbo and can't in current regs form als...

It's definitely an advantage coming one year later as they can see what's good and what's not and they must have some data from mclaren to compare it to the merc but saying that they are a year behind in setting up the PU and hybrid systems. All the engine manufactures took some time to get everythi...

Though id dig up my old thred on this now its almost over I think he'll wait for the next big rule change (2014?) with the new engines and such, if he hasn't won the WDC by then and they f*ck that up too, he'll probably begin to think about calling it a day there. 10 points for that man please

I'm just wondering what Lewis role is in this and can he help develop the car as he certainly seems able to get the most out of a car and it also helps the other driver I know its been suggested that some drivers setup hampers the other driver, I think Lewis is not dull and knows what he likes and t...

I'm betting the following SV signed for Ferrari to go when he was ready, likely 2016 . it does make sense from a team point of view to take a year away from Ferrari. they wanted Seb and now was the chance to sign him, Kimi is under contract as is Alonso for 2015. based on the fact they paid Kimi off last time I'm guessing there is a clause in his contract or one hell of a sum preventi...

Re: Do McLaren have an underpowered Merc engine?
I believe all engines go into a pot and a distributed randomly to the teams including the works one.
however you can't tell me if one shows a few horses more I won't end up in the merc.
as stated it will be packaging and software and how the power is delivered is what the differences are.

The cars were set up for a wet race though, thats why they struggled in dry qualifying That may be so but it's still impressive that they were so quick with that underpowered engine. I guess the wet really negates their biggest weakness. Engine power not really relivent in the wet so the field was ...

id guess they would have CCTV in the garages so it should be relatively easy so spot when it happened IF it was on car prep, as for would they, damn rite a mechanic would, these places are like a shark pools. we are not talking cutting brake lines here just a slight squirt in the wrong place to help...

Perhaps one of the mechanics felt Nico's column needed lubrication.
Nothing more suspicious than an something that's easy to lay your hands on finding its way into somewhere it shouldn't be.
next race Nico better hide all the sugar

Nothing. Iv read says it's normally used ? That changes nothing it don't mean someone did not give a squirt down the column for good luck if anything it's more suspicious as its easily explained away as an accident or oversight

Re: Why a 1.6L turbo??
The turbo in an F1 cat is far more revolutionary than the twin turbo concept in your MINI. It is connected to a MGU, which can spin up the turbo independently of engine speed. It can dekiver the exact amount of air the engine needs at any point in time and then harvest any excess energy where the e...
