And for those who said Fangio had the best - well - Alfa yes but with 3-6 team mates and poor reliability and not favoured - then not the best V ferrari in 1952-53 - then best 54-55 - then best in Ferrari in 1956 - then second best (yes second best) in 1957 - only won because he beat other fantatic ...

Re: Stewart: Hamilton not at the level of Fangio etc
It's interesting what people say in terms of comparisons - Dolomite has given some context but what is missing is the extreme danger in the early days compared to now - The reality is that there was 10% chance of DYING every time a driver raced in the 50s - and many did - so to even survive (let alo...

Re: McLaren could have blocked Sainz going to Ferrari
DR was apparently McL first pick 2 yrs ago - but couldn't get him over line - while Sainz has done a great job - with a Merc engine next yr - is this a game changer - or will McL be compromised on integrating the engine in 2021 so not as competitive like Ferrari til rule changes?

. Quite hilarious "voting". When this topic started Hamilton got 10 or 12 votes very quickly, and Ricciardo only managed 2. Since then Ricciardo has just got more and more - it's almost like people are looking at the results and then coming on to vote for anyone other than Hamilton. Strange. . I vo...

I wonder what the answer is for most expensive (or important) crash in terms of impact on championships?
What for instance would have happened if Senna didn't crash (or even didn't die) in 1994?

You honestly think if there is only one update package available in Sochi it will go to Perez? It's the updates ear marked for Perez's car, they needn't need to tell the world that Stroll's car was better last time out. You can't honestly believe Perez will get the updates and Stroll not if only on...

have to say that verstappen or Ricciardo would have won if in a McLaren - don't let the Hamilton show get out of hand - Mercedes have deliberately given a 2IC driver - others would push or beat Hamilton in the same car - Hamilton and Mercedes are chicken to refuse to allow this

I think it's clear max is a talent - but has had preferential treatment at team as well (not that it's been the main issue affecting his success I add)
Still - I'm less clear that max would perform in a midfield car - and not sure without preferential treatment he'd do as well as he has

hard to vote for racing point when Nico didn't get to start - but he was equal given how things happened in practice and qualifying and may have outperformed Stroll if allowed to race - a pity he didn't get to start due to engine issues

Re: Confirmed: Ricciardo to join Mclaren from 2021
The issue on value for money is also about whether the driver scores points - which can be worth a lot to teams It's clear DR was the priority for McLaren in 2016 - but their history for the years prior was what made DR go for the works team It's not clear Renault (or Merc) will stay the course - an...

In 2010 I'd go so far as to put Kubica top. He was an absolute machine, whereas Hamilton made mistakes which cost him the Championship in Monza and Singapore. Rosberg will always been an enigma in that period as we don't really know how much speed MSC had lost. Much like Vettel always looking comfo...

it's an interesting concept - clearly those like Fangio/Senna/ Prost and more were fantatic - as they had to overtake on track - but the cars allowed that more easily In the modern era - Ricciardo is clearly the standout in a non dominant car - but some like Mark Webber was underrated as he often ha...

How about we have Australia 1, Australia 2, Australia 3 and Australia 4? That would cover the first 4 races and they could probably cut some gaps if they don't have to pack up and move
One could trial a reverse grid even if points were not recorded - or some other options
